View Full Version : DVD in the Works? Looks like it! Pavan 04-11-2005, 10:55 PM We can expect That's My Mama on DVD maybe later this summer (late July). TVFactFan 04-11-2005, 11:24 PM YAY!!!!!!!!!!-Anyone else want to share this JOY WITH ME?????????????????????? vashti1999 04-11-2005, 11:39 PM Shocking, but great news. I think the studio got tired of TVShow Analyzer asking for it, so they decided to put it out. I seriously believe somehow TVShow Analyzer is the catalyst. TVFactFan 04-11-2005, 11:45 PM Shocking, but great news. I think the studio got tired of TVShow Analyzer asking for it, so they decided to put it out. I seriously believe somehow TVShow Analyzer is the catalyst. LOL-I can't believe it myself. I was more concerned about the Jeffersons than this show because I felt it was no hope vashti1999 04-11-2005, 11:49 PM Pavan, any indication if it'll be just season one or all 39 episodes? TVFactFan 04-11-2005, 11:54 PM Pavan, any indication if it'll be just season one or all 39 episodes? Pav said they plan on releasing both seasons and are not expecting big numbers. Finally, a short-lived TV show on DVD that I'm interested in seeing more episodes of. Is July Here Yet??-LOL vashti1999 04-11-2005, 11:58 PM Pav said they plan on releasing both seasons and are not expecting big numbers. Finally, a short-lived TV show on DVD that I'm interested in seeing more episodes of. Is July Here Yet??-LOL I wouldn't expect big numbers either, that's why I thought it was shocking. But it's good that they would release a show that isn't at the top of many people's lists. It gives less popular shows hope that they'll be released. seventies_sitcoms 04-12-2005, 01:36 PM I hope it is true. I would like to see this show myself. I've never seen it before. It looks like Sony might be digging around for some obscure titles!! dlemond 04-12-2005, 01:41 PM YAY!!!!!!!!!!-Anyone else want to share this JOY WITH ME?????????????????????? I really did like to watch syndicated reruns of this show as a kid (around dinner time, I remember) back in the early '80s. I will certainly be getting this. Well, at least renting it. barwars 04-12-2005, 03:25 PM I'll be getting it.... and I've never seen an episode. TVFactFan 04-12-2005, 04:52 PM I'll be getting it.... and I've never seen an episode. Is that because I talk so much about the show?-lol barwars 04-12-2005, 05:21 PM Is that because I talk so much about the show?-lol Exactly. I like most of your other favorites, and this sounds like something I would enjoy. Caitlyn 04-27-2005, 04:51 PM I must admit, the thread of a possible DVD release for That's My Mama caught my eye. It's one of those obscure sitcoms i've been looking for for years. Prior to the thread here regarding the release as a possibility, i'd initially discovered the news on TV Tome with a release date of July 26th given. I then went over to the TV Shows On DVD site & did a thorough scouring of stuff to be put out in future months as well as a title search for this show & came up empty (the title was listed in the database, but nothing what-so-ever about any upcoming release). Many other shows scheduled to be coming out, yet nothing on the site at all to support the rumor of a DVD release for That's My Mama, so I won't get carried away being excited in what i've heard & read so far. It would be great to have the series come out & yes, i'd buy it right away but until I actually see a press release to support this, i'll assume it's not going to be available for some time yet. Still, i'll continue to keep my fingers crossed! Caitlyn TVFactFan 04-27-2005, 05:13 PM I must admit, the thread of a possible DVD release for That's My Mama caught my eye. I notice on the Partridge Family set they have a promo specifically dealing with urban releases (Good Times, Jeffersons, Sanford & Son), so I see why they'd release TMM, WH and GT on the same day. vashti1999 05-10-2005, 04:10 PM Oh yeah that is great news, I won;t need season 5 of good times since i already have them from TV ONE Don't you think it's gonna look awkward not having all of the seasons of GT in your dvd collection? Pavan 06-15-2005, 10:05 AM Season 1 synopsis and cover art: Welcome to Oscar's Barbershop, recently inherited by Oscar's Son Clifton. Clifton's got it made - a successful business, luck with the ladies- but he still lives with Mama. She rules the roost, and dispenses advice to everyone who'll listen (and some who won't). Clifton's sister Tracy, brother-in-law Leonard, friends Earl and Junior, barbershop regulars Wildcat and Josh; no one is spared from Mama's wisdom. And they would have it any other way. A hidden gem of 1970's television comedy, "That's My Mama" was a highlight in the careers of Clifton Davis and Jester Hairston (both of TV's "Amen") and Ted Lange (Isaac on "The Love Boat") and featured guest appearances by Tim Reid and Gordon Jump, both of whom went on to star in the hit show "WKRP in Cincinnati." vashti1999 06-15-2005, 10:49 AM Season 1 synopsis and cover art: Welcome to Oscar's Barbershop, recently inherited by Oscar's Son Clifton.
