Herman is quite a character!

Could some of his expressions be coming from discomfort and pain from all Fred Gywnne was wearing?

I don't detect any discomfort from the first season, but definitaly in the second.

For example, I notice from time to time in the second season, Herman is breathing very hard, which means he must be hot, which means he must be sweating under all that heavy make-up and costume.
