I have seen almost no information on this show. All I know about it is that Steve Martin, Bob Denver, Mr T, Leslie Nielsen and Rick Moranis were in it. I have never seen it but saw it at TV Tome and the IMDB. Its from 1982 and aired on NBC. Does anybody have more info than that. It was a 90 Minute series. The weird thing is The Complete Directory to....... Does not have a synopysees on it.

Well, it wasn't a primetime series. (What was the last 90 min primetime series? The Virginian?).
It ran late night and if my memory serves me correctly, it aired in SNL's spot (instead of a SNL repeat). I don't remember how many episodes they produced, but obviously not that many.

As far as I remember, there were only ever two of them. It was a bizarre mishmash of filmed sketches (although there might have been a studio audience) and music videos. I definitely remember the music video for ABC's the Look of Love was shown as part of the second one, and I'm almost positive the Go-Go's music video Vacation was shown as part of the first one, but that I don't recall as clearly.. I also recall a sketch featuring Michael York introducing Barry Manilow, who sings Copacabana over a telephone (he's never actually seen) while dancers perform holding the receiver; Manilow finishes the song, and York hangs up on him. There was another funny bit with Michael York appealing to the audience to become a "Twilight Theater" supporter (a la PBS pledge drives) and for some outrageous sum of money, the donor would receive various worthless gifts, one of which was a thumbtack. Steve Martin's short film The Absent Minded Waiter was also shown as part of the program (in one of the two, don't recall which) and there was a short, humorous music video built around Steve Martin playing the banjo. And I have just a flash of memory of Bill Murray in the first one, but I could be wrong about that.

I would love to see these again. I had the second one on video tape many, many years ago, but alas, it is long gone now; I remember watching it over and over when I was 12 or so, but my memory has faded. And I can't find anything about them on Youtube or the internet. An article from People's magazine's website indicates one of them aired in October 1982 on NBC at 11:30...

I was looking at an old TV Week newspaper supplement when I saw this show listed. The second show aired November 6, 1982 in the SNL timeslot. According to TV Week, it was hosted by Leslie Nielsen and lists the following two features:

* A sketch featuring Patti Davis (the Reagans' daughter) and Barbara Hershey in a shop that offers men for sale.

* A debate between G. Gordon Liddy and Moon Unit Zappa.
