In the pilot episodes, when Grandpa is playing checkers, he's having a snack. What is in that bowl? It's a bunch of black things that are moving around and making a sound.
I could guess bumblebees, but they're not buzzing or flying away.

Don't know what is was supposed to be, but it looks like blue colored popcorn!

i believe he mentioned what it was in either one of the two pilots included on the season 1 DVD or both, I'll check a little later and post if it was indeed mentioned or not. whats making it move is probably butch patrick or the other eddie before butch! either that or some kind of mechanical gizmo, but those kinds of things hardly existed in '64! i guess we'll never know. :confused:

As you can see in the photo, nothing is under the table, which means something had to be in that bowl to make it move. Maybe a Lizard or something?

One is a long shot and one is a close up. They were probably shot minutes apart, but one with the standard table and the other with the close up table, (supposedly with a hand hole for an effects technician to stir Grandpa's tasty snack. It probably had a cloth covered hole on the bottom so the snack wouldn't escape from the bottom and run away.)

As for what it is, maybe ghost droppings, popped or dried wolfbane berries, dried liver nuggets or maybe it was just licorice flavored popcorn. Who know what the Count likes to snack on...

... maybe the desk of the table had a vibrator or someone was behind his chair pushing it around. i didnt get a chance to pull out the disc today, but i now recall that he didnt mention it.
