Some are and some aren't. there are a lot of Arabs in Egypt, but most people there of of Hamitic stock which is black, but are mixed with other ethnicities.

It's really funny that you bring this up...My friend is Egyptian and we were filling out our ACT forms the other day and she asked if she could fill in that she was African American. Because, technically, she is. But I highly doubt she'd be considered a "minority," when it comes to scholarships and stuff. Egyptians are African (African American, if they live in America), but not all of them have black skin, if that's what you're asking.

Well Egyptian isn't a race - it's a nationality. For example, you can be German, but have ancestry from Nigeria, Turkey, Japan, etc.

Well Africa north of the Sahara is a vastly different place then sub-Saharan Africa, where most people with darker skin come from. People in the north are lighter skinned and more Mediterranean looking, like people from Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, etc.

There's this girl in my class, Makayla, and a month ago we had to fill out a survey. She is half Egyptian and half Polish and she has caramel colored skin (not dark but far from white) and green eyes. She does have hair like most black people though. She asked if she should pick "Black" (it said black, not African American) and the teacher said yes, because she looks more black than caucasian. But to a white person, Makayla looks black and to a black person, she looks white. She ended up picking black on the survey. She actually looks like those paintings of ancient Egyptians that we see in our social studies books. :lol:

I'm not positive, but they may consider themselves "brown". I have two friends - one East Indian and the other is Pakistani and they both call themselves "brown". Since Egyptians appear to be around the same skintone for the mostpart, then I would think they would fall into that category.

I used to have Egyptian friends but have lost touch with them for several years, otherwise I'd check with the "horses mouth" so to speak.
