Last night, I watched this episode on the TV Land syndication, and apparently they cut the scene that explains why Beaver was allowed to ride his bike to school...
Anyone who's seen the uncut version, could you explain why please? Thanks.

I haven't been in school for many years. Is it unusual nowadays for kids to ride their bikes to school? We used to do it all the time. They had bike racks at the school for us to park our bikes. We didn't even lock them up all the time!
I didn't see the first of the ep today, but I remember that at the beginning Beaver just asks to ride his bicycle to school because Larry and Whitey are doing so. Ward at first says it's a "brand new bike" and he thought Beaver was content to ride around in the immediate neighborhood and the bus is a reliable and all-weather system of getting to school. But Beaver is persistent, of course, to go along with the guys. So Ward gives permission, and June, expectedly, tries to make him feel he did the wrong thing but she won't cross him.
