View Full Version : Tim Daly On "EYES"
pilotguy 04-07-2005, 06:54 AM I saw the second episode of "Eyes" last night, and it was another enjoyable, well-done episode.
I've noticed something about Tim's "Harlan Judd" character....He's really something of a smart-aleck wiseguy, and he loves taunting the bad guys in a humorous and sarcastic way. When Tim does this, it reminds me a lot of Steven Weber's "Brian Hackett" character (especially the way that Brian would give it to Roy). I'm not used to Tim doing this type of sarcastic "taunting smart-aleck" humor, but he does it very well! His "Harlan Judd" is a very interesting character, and not just another "pretty boy" hero.
I really hope that people give this excellent series a chance!
kellynch 04-07-2005, 03:11 PM I recorded it last night, and hope to watch it over the weekend. I think Tim's character is GREAT.
Eddie Haskell 04-08-2005, 06:06 AM Great new show, IMO. It'll never last........for just that reason. People don't want good TV, they want mindless crap..........see "Listen Up". :)
kellynch 04-08-2005, 08:56 AM I did watch it this morning, and it really held my attention.
SPOILER ALERT!
If you want to read the spoiler, highlight everything beneath this line of text:
I'm still wondering if Tim's character knows the truth about Nora and Jeff, or if he's just playing the two of them off against each other because he doesn't really trust either of them. And whatever happened to Trish's husband? Did he listen to the tapes? I hope they tell us all this before the show gets cancelled. That's what generally happens to shows I like. *sigh*
PS -- next week's episode is called (get this!) WINGS!

HAA!
I'm sure they did that on purpose. Heee.

Boy, let's hope not!! I know what you mean though - it amazes me the garbage they'll leave on!
Cr*p - I missed last night's episode. Our VCR isn't working properly at the moment.

That's one of the reasons I so rarely watch network TV anymore. One of the things I love best about cable is the fact that, if you miss a show the first time, you can often catch it in repeats within a few hours.

Yeah - same here. We have 2 satellites (but taping sucks since you have to be watching the channel in order to tape). Also have cable.
Even though we have time shifting, sometimes there's three shows that overlap so I still have to miss one and that's what happened last night.
kellynch 04-08-2005, 04:48 PM DVR is the answer. You only put stuff on tape/DVD that you REALLY want.
Wings#1ShowPeriod 04-16-2005, 05:42 PM Eyes gets better by the week, Im glad to see Tim Daly in action again. Eyes is great.
barwars 04-16-2005, 06:13 PM I love this show, it's not quite as good as Boston Legal or Desperate Housewives, but definitely the cream of the midseason crop.
Sadly, it doesn't seem we'll see it return in the fall. A surprise renewal may happen. This seems like it will return moreso than Blind Justice, but it's future still isn't looking too bright.
High profile timeslot killed this series.... up against L&O and CSI:NY.
I like all three series, but I've been watching Eyes for the past three weeks, and plan on tuning in for the rest of the show (however long that may be)
kellynch 04-17-2005, 07:14 PM I've never seen Boston Legal or Desperate Housewives, so I can't tell you anything about them. All I know is that Eyes is one of the more clever, interesting and entertaining shows I've seen in years.
Here (http://cgi1.usatoday.com/mchat/20050413003/tscript.htm) is a Q&A session with Tim Daly and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon that I found pretty interesting.
And here is something more pertinent to this as a Wings board:
...but will "Wings" ever be offered on DVD? I watch it whenever I can but it's one of the few TV shows that isn't offered on DVD. Thank you! And, I love your new show!
Tim Daly: Thank you and please write to Paramount and tell them to release it on DVD. I'd like to see it myself.
Garcelle: My son watches it too and would love it on DVD.
