I influenced my parents! :lol: I was the 60's generation and they listened to my stuff. Although my Mom loved Dean Martin which rubbed off on me. I like him too! :D My parents(especially my dad) liked my music.

My parents introduced me to Frank Sinatras music which I started listening to in my early 20's.

My dad likes all the classic rock music....which is where I picked it up from(The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, etc). :D

Me too. My father is a big Sinatra fan, so I grew up listening to his music.

My dad listens to a lot of the Rolling Stones, so he introduced me to that music, but as for all the other music I listen to, I basically came across the Beatles and Archies and Buddy Holly and all the other cool music I listen to by myself.

My taste for 60s-80s pop music is partly due to my parents influence.

Mum made me a fan of Abba,Cher,Dusty Springfield,Diana Ross,Tom Jones,The Divinyls and Van Morrison.

Hehehehe, thanks! Honestly, it's ALL I listen to. I can't really stand new stuff, for some reason. I mean, some of it is OK. I think I'm just a 70's girl at heart :)

Not to put down today's stuff for anybody who likes it, but to me, the 60s, 70s and some early 80s music had much more complicated rythmns, guitar riffs and melodies than today's stuff - especially the computer generated dance mix stuff - IMO, its not really music at all.

OMG!! I could be your mother!! :lol: That's great though. I really think there's less of a generation gap, especially in music between our generations than there was with my parent's generation.
I will never forget my first live concert - it was Led Zeppelin - when I was 9!!! I went with my two older brothers - I was hooked after that! :D
