View Full Version : friends and american admirers, why not release Moonlighting in Europe?
escalante 04-05-2005, 01:02 PM I write because I think Moonlighting is special serie in the world ,the petition page have signatures of anywhere , coverall very numerous from Europe (spain,france,italy,england,scotland,portugal,germany,.............................) why not release for Europe?? who have the rights?? this situation is unjust, I think unfortunately never release in Europe
EUROPE WANT MOONLIGHTING NOW!!!
MulberryGal 04-11-2005, 04:13 AM Quite right too!!
Lots of us Europeans have joined with our American friends to get Moonlighting released on DVD, and when it does get planned, they miss us out completely! According to Cindy, I think this is because the company only have licence to release in the US and Canada. But it's very shortsighted only to release there and to miss out Europe completely...
Somehow, I think we'll be waiting for ages... I'm really thinking about buying a multi-region DVD player and just buying this from Amazon.com, but part of me feels I shouldn't have to do this!!

Dutchie 04-11-2005, 06:27 AM You are totally right! We helped with signing the petitions and stuff, they shouldn't leave us out!!
TheCursedRedBaron 04-12-2005, 12:39 PM Don't BUY a multiregion DVD player if you already have a DVD player at home. Google DVD hacks and see if you can multi-region it yourself, it's just codes entered via the remote control.
CindyK 04-12-2005, 03:23 PM To my international friends,
The DVD campaign does appreciate your support and knows that you all participated in a big way. I predict that when these Moonlighting DVD's start flying off the shelves, someone will figure out that an international release would be a profitable venture, and then may very well set out to release them in Region II as well.
So keep talking them up. And we will keep our fingers crossed for you.
MulberryGal 04-13-2005, 04:29 AM Thanks for the support Cindy. I hope they'll realise their error when half of America goes out and buys the DVDs!
The only problem I can see is that they might do what happened with the Pilot - in the USA you got a version with commentary by Bruce and Glen Caron, but the UK version doesn't have this at all. To me the main point of me replacing my old videos is so I have the extras like Cybill, Bruce and Glen Caron's commentaries!!
I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Dutchie 04-13-2005, 05:05 AM yeah me too, I want the commentary!
(what am I complaining about, I have a region-free dvd player)
I will cross my fingers for everyone in Europe!
Tazmania 04-15-2005, 01:27 PM I just can't believe that the show will not come out on DVD in Europe.
It was and still is a hit-series in some countries.
If Dallas comes to Europe then so will ML!!
Carina13 04-16-2005, 02:12 PM Uffff I hope they realese those DVD's in Europe, for god's sake!
Mmmm..... region 1 DVD's... can't be played in the computer with some codecs or something?
MulberryGal 04-22-2005, 03:36 AM Glad you agree Carina - great to see you here sweetie, it's been a while!

chelsea_05 05-18-2005, 11:48 AM hello
can ne 1 tell me howi will find out if i hav a region free dvd player ???
luv chelsea xxx
Tazmania 05-19-2005, 02:15 PM Actually every DVD is region free you just need the codes to change region.
In some stores in Holland they give you a piece of paper with the codes on it.
I bought one of those, but if you have a brand like Sony, Poineer etc they don't give it away.
But there must be a site where these codes can be found!
Google on!!
chelsea_05 05-20-2005, 12:31 PM thanx taz!!!
Chelsea,
I just bought cheap Matsui DVD player in Currys. The multi-region hack for it is on the Currys website. Now I just need the DVDs to try it out!
Tamm
MulberryGal 05-23-2005, 03:35 AM Great stuff, I must look up my DVD player and see whether I can make it region free as well....
Hey Tamm, are you pre-ordering the DVDs from Amazon then?
Mul
gypsygem81 05-23-2005, 01:53 PM Same here Tamm, I just went round my parents to swap dvd players with them as my dad said he's swap me mine for his region free one. They're going to Malta tomorrow and I'd go crazy if the dvd's arrived before they got back and I hadn't gone round for it!
Love Gem
chelsea_05 05-24-2005, 05:34 PM i have just hacked my dvd so it is region free n it takes ages to load up but i dont mind all i need now is the dvds love chelsea
I haven't ordered them yet as it has been a very expensive month with holidays and moving house I needed to wait till they would be on the next credit card bill! Will get them ordered at the weekend and hopefully they will come quite quickly
BSDDomi 07-20-2005, 01:38 PM I own two that were multi region when I bought them ;)...and they were a special offer...I own an almost three yr old Scott DVD player that's sitting in my living room and it will have to be replaced soon, it can't read some of the DVDs properly anymore...and I've got a Xoro HSD 400 Pro in my bedroom which is brandnew. That one reads everything just takes a while to load the DVD.
chelsea_05 08-07-2005, 01:37 PM i thought i hacked my dvd the other day but then i put the dvds in n it wouldnt work so i think i will have to buy a multi region dvd player
