Here are some UM stories that involve devil worshipinng or satanism in one way or another. This is something that scared me to death as a child.

1. Son of Sam 2 part special - Berkowitz alleged ties to Satanic murderers

2. Racheal Runyan murder - "Special Alert" in which police found a message that said "666" leading authorities to suspect the four year-old's murder dealt with snuff porn and devil worship.

3. Kurt McFall - knight and jousting enthuisiast who was found dead at the bottom of a cliff under suspicious circumstances. He may have been involved in a cult.

4. Jeff Macdonald - possibility of cult with Helena Stokely attacking and murdering his family

5. The infamous Maples - abducted their grandchildren after alleging that their own daughter had ties to a cult.

6. The disappearance of Charles Southern Junior and Teri Hoffman's cult

7. Vampire cult and the case with that freaky kid with long hair who blew kisses at the camera. Appernetly he murdered somebody.

8. The two lovers who were killed while making out in a parked car and allegedly being involved in a dark, shadowy cult world.

9. A woman who kidnapped her son a roamed around the city with a goofy cult. I think eventually the father got his son back.

10. Shane and Sally - two killed because of their apparent involvement in a cul. PLEASE< SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS CASE< AS MY INFO IS LIMITED.

1. (One of my favorites) Eric and Pam Ellender were shot to death in their Louisiana home in 1991. A young drug addict confessed, claiming he acted alone, and later hanged himself in jail before he could be tried. The family of the murdered couple thought others were involved and that there were weird rituals and drug activity going on at the house after the Ellenders were killed.

2. The story about the grandmother who brainwashed her grandson by showing him satanic video tapes. The kid also claims he was molested by a "devil" in the pool. The grandmother eventually abducted the boy. I don't remember names, but this was NOT the infamous Baskin case.

I'll let you know if I think of any others.

As for the Shane and Sally story, I do have it on tape but haven't watched it in a while so bear with me. They were boyfriend & girlfriend and by all accounts were involved in Satan worship. A friend of Sally's that was interviewed even went to a meeting with Sally where they all gathered around the ouija board. She said Sally seemed to go into some sort of a trance. Shane's dad also said he started acting out and would get into fights which was unlike his nature. After becoming disillusioned with the cult, Shane and Sally broke ties with them. Sally's friend said she was afraid for her life and said someone was going to kill her. They also contacted the police to turn in a gun that people from the cult had given them and I think it turned out to be stolen. They were helping police out by giving them info about the cult and asked to have their names left out of it, although all the policeman said was he would do his best. I believe Shane and Sally moved out of town shortly after but then were reunited on or near July 4th and went out to watch fireworks. A fisherman claims to have witnessed an argument between them and some others but didn't think anything of it. They were found the next morning, I believe, and had both been shot to death. Anyone else feel free to comment or add if I've gotten anything wrong. I believe this happened in Texas but don't remember what part.

This is a very interesting thread mercy1825! I'm not a witch (although some would beg to differ) but I do know that many people who practice witchcraft and believe in the occult do so for spiritual enlightenment. Sadly, the ancient Zoroastian worship of good verses evil has been completely mis-interpreted by a lot of today's "satanists" and cult leaders who have decided to channel their anger in evil and violent ways.

9. A woman who kidnapped her son a roamed around the city with a goofy cult. I think eventually the father got his son back.

#9 is Nicolas Karopoulos who was taken by his mother from San Francisco to live among a nomadic cult in numerous cities. He has been reunited with his father.

# 11 is the McCloud Cult? Has he ever been caught?

Other cases:

1) From the first season, a woman who killed her boyfriend/husband and practiced witchcraft. You may recall the beginning credits from seasons 2-4 showed a snippet from the episode of her wearing black negligee and sitting in a pentagram lighting candles. I remember an update that she was caught, but I haven't seen this case since it originally aired. Anyone have more info on this case?

2) The story of the "real-life" Salem witch who helped the local police solve crimes.

3) And of course, the mother of all idiotic satanists: Richard Ramirez, the "Night Stalker". UM did an episode where they were searching for the man who gave police vital info that lead to the arrest of Ramirez.

I do remember the man's name was Charlie Sigmin. He was the one who married a woman that he later found out was involved in satan worship. It seems like he also found a doll on his side of the bed with pins in it. Her boyfriend was suspected to be an accomplice in killing him and I know at the end of the story there was an update that he had turned himself in and was advising her to do the same. He seemed to indicate that he was not involved in the murder.

Another one I just thought of:

A seldom shown story about a Jim Jones type who had his followers living in a camp. The camp eventually became a sweatshop, and the man's followers were forced to make clothes and jewlery. There was eventually some type of legal action brought against this guy, during which time he made some threats against a federal judge. The feds came looking for him after that, and he went on the run. I can't remember his name, and the case wasn't exactly satanic in nature, but did pertain to a cult.

Tony Alamo. He also dug up his dead wife's casket and took it with him. What a nut.

There was also a case where a divorced woman took out an add for two roomates. Two women posing as mother and daughter moved into her house and pretended to befriend her eventually convincing her to take a vacation. While she was gone, the two women robbed her of all her valuables and apparently had some animal sacrifices (which I believe are part of cult activities) since animal blood was found smeared all over her bedroom walls.

I haven't seen this case in a long time but I believe the women were caught.

Yes, I have both of them. I have the version that aired on NBC and the Lifetime one. I'm unsure if there is any difference between the two of them. If you're interested, email me.

The long-haired kid in question was Rod Ferrell. He's now on death row for the 1996 murders of the parents of a fellow vampire groupie. For more information on this case, you can search Rod Ferrell's name through google.com, and you'll find plently of links related to the case.

The Rod Ferrell case was not the direct subject of an UM segment. It was simply mentioned in a segment the show did, but it was regarding an unrelated vampire cult story.

An episode about a cop shot by a sniper through his window of his house. It was believed to have been done by a group/cult of radicals called 'free men'. Not satanic, but still interesting.
