If I'm not mistaken she was only in 3 shows that year, but they kept her billed as a regular player in the opening longer than that. When she was fired they replaced her in the opening with Nanette Fabray who played the grandmother. Also I believe that Howard Hesseman was only billed in the credits of the episodes he was in, a weird practice at that time that other shows have since picked up on. Other oddities about this show's credits: in the 8th year Shelly Fabares was in the opening, but not in year 9, although she was still in the show. And they had different shots of the actors in the opening in almost every season, the exception was years 2 and 3.

They changed the shots of the actors every single year. In years 4-7 they had painted portraits of the actors that morphed into real videotaped shots of the actors, but these shots were different in every season. Most shows don't change the visuals of the opening in every single season.

I guess I would have to see the show from seasons 4 to 8 to know what you mean. I'm still not understanding but that's just because I have not clear memory of the show.
