View Full Version : Question about Prince Charles wedding KJH278 04-04-2005, 12:24 AM Will the wedding been seen on TV in the USA KJH278 04-04-2005, 11:56 AM will it TripperFan 04-04-2005, 12:16 PM The wedding itself isn't going to be televised at all, but the "blessing" afterwards is supposed to be. Not sure who will cover it, but likely CNN will. Be warned that it probably won't be held this Friday afterall. The palace has announced that they don't want to hold it on the day of the Pope's funeral. Mysty Eyes 04-04-2005, 12:23 PM I haven't a clue as to whether or not it will be televised at all. I rather doubt it. It has been put off one day: they will be married on Saturday. peter may 04-04-2005, 06:19 PM the wedding is being televised, but its been postponed until saturday TripperFan 04-04-2005, 06:22 PM Just taped eh? Not live? Geez, maybe Buckingham Palace is worried there might be a wardrobe malfunction with Camilla - now THAT would be a horrifying thing!! (Sorry - I'm mixed on it - I'm still very loyal to Diana, but at the same time, what the hell - they're together anyway. Just don't ever want to see an equine as the Queen of England - frankly I think Chuckie should have just stepped down like his uncle did) Mysty Eyes 04-04-2005, 06:44 PM The question is whether or not it will air in the USA. I can't imagine why it would have an audience here. But... who knows? Some cable station might have it on. It's not being tape-delayed. The wedding is being delayed so that Charles can attend the Pope's funeral on Friday. Mijada 04-04-2005, 07:12 PM I'm sure CNN or MSNBC will cover it MissZero 04-04-2005, 08:41 PM The Princes are hot TripperFan 04-04-2005, 08:50 PM The question is whether or not it will air in the USA. The wedding is being delayed so that Charles can attend the Pope's funeral on Friday. I swear somebody had posted that it was to be taped. Maybe it was on another thread of the same topic, or they've deleted it, but they did say taped. I knew the wedding itself was to be delayed. Mysty Eyes 04-04-2005, 08:53 PM I swear somebody had posted that it was to be taped. Maybe it was on another thread of the same topic, or they've deleted it, but they did say taped. Well, it is possible that the US might see it on a tape-delay basis anyway. Millions stayed up all night to watch Charles marry Diana (I was one of them), but I honestly cannot imagine too many would do that for this wedding. They might be planning to air it at a more reasonable time for the US audience. Like I said, I don't really know. I have no plans to watch it. TripperFan 04-04-2005, 10:13 PM Well, it is possible that the US might see it on a tape-delay basis anyway. I was glued to the tube for Chuck & Di's (I am like the biggest Diana fan) and even got up for Andrew's & Fergie's, but this one - unless I'm armed with a dozen eggs and a few overripe tomatoes, I'll pass! I'd rather watch the running of the Queen's Plate - nicer horses! Mysty Eyes 04-04-2005, 10:23 PM  Yeah, I watched Fergie and Andrew too. And, sadly, Diana's funeral. But... a civil ceremony for a second marriage... between two people that I really don't have any interest in... well... :sleep2:  TripperFan 04-04-2005, 10:32 PM  Yeah, I watched Fergie and Andrew too. And, sadly, Diana's funeral. But... a civil ceremony for a second marriage... between two people that I really don't have any interest in... well... :sleep2:  Exactly!! Snooozola! Yeah, I even taped her funeral - the entire thing. I've never been able to bring myself to watch it again though. I bought the Elton John CD. A friend gave me a commerative print of Diana that I have hanging up. I want to be happy for His-Nibs (why, really I don't know other than for the boys I guess) but its tough because I feel like I'm betraying Diana still. I know this is probably stupid! Just I followed her from the day they introduced her to this day. She was the same age as me, so I guess it started from living vicariously I guess! haha! And any woman that has an affair with a married man knowingly, and knowing his wife, and making a fool of her husband and sham for her children truly is a rottweiller IMO. Although, that IS an insult to the rottie! Janice 04-04-2005, 10:46 PM Princess Diana's funeral was one of the saddest real life events I've ever watched on tv. It wiped me out. Terrible shame that lovely woman died. The royal family treated her like dirt. Charles married an heir maker. She thought she was marrying for love. I heard Chucky shacked up with the Rot the night before his wedding. Mysty Eyes 04-04-2005, 10:58 PM Eh, I don't have any problem by this time with Chuck and Cammy getting married. They're a couple anyway; may as well make them "honest." I hated what they did to Diana; what the entire elder royals did to her. Ugh! But, by this time I think that even Diana wouldn't object completely to the marriage. At least Charles looks happy most of the time, and that is good for the boys. What I can't stand is the thought of Camilla being called "Princess of Wales," which I heard will be the case. Yech! puke: Unless I heard wrong; but I don't think that I did. TripperFan 04-04-2005, 11:20 PM NNNNOOOOO!! I heard Dutchess of (Something - who cares really). I know that the palace was o.k. to make her queen (another sham as far as I'm concerned since the Queen wouldn't allow her sister happiness to marry the guy she had wanted and the one she did marry didn't work out anyway). But that Camilla herself didn't want to be named Queen (so I figured she'd go with the Dutchess thing). Boy is their family tree ever going to look officially splintered now!! This is certainly a first. The monarchy's been falling apart for years anyway. Was before Diana and is again since her death. If it weren't for Wills and Harry I could care less about the bunch now I'm afraid. They're every bit as disfunctional as The Osbournes!! |
