The Tracy Kirkpatrick thread got me thinking about the case where the elementary school teacher went to her part-time job at a card shop and was found murdered in the back room the next day. She had talked to her sister on the phone during her shift. Then later the night a customer came in to the shop but didn't see any workers in there so she left. I believe this murder happened in the early 90s.

Anyone remember this and have any recent updates?

Hi! Welcome to the board Melanie!

Yes, that story about the teacher is Lisa Ziegart. Its mentioned quite a bit on the board. As far as I know there haven't been arrests.

New England's Unsolved, a segment shown exclusively on the Saturday night edition of Boston's FOX 25 news, did a segment on Lisa Ziegert's murder last year.

Here's the link:

Losing a person that has been murdered is difficult everywhere obviously, but I would think it would be more difficult in a little town like Agawam where EVERYBODY knows each other. Such a sad case. :(

Yes, I remember this case being especially sad for her poor students. One of my teachers committed suicide when I was a kid, and it was very devastating to all of the students and teachers at the school, not to mention her family.

I have posted on this case before because it makes me so freakin mad that no one has been made to pay for this hideous act and they is likely two people involved! What an amazing person she was too!

Just some corrections on your statements. LIsa went to work at the card shop and her sister did stop by while she was there. Later a customer walked in and no one was there. She claimed to hear noises in the back but left. Another eyewitnesses saw a woman and two men in a car driving and the men were pushing the woman around. They turned down a dirt road and this is where LIsa's body was found.

I have always wondered if this was such a small town if maybe LIsa was targeted. How would these people know she was by herself in that shop, why would they do it when anyone could walk in? I think Lisa was approached by someone she knew and somehow went to the back with the person and maybe at that point another person went into the store.

I read the link and I was wondering if Lisa Ziegert's father is still alive. Lisa's mother speaks throughout the whole article and her father wasn't mentioned. Lisa's mother just mentioned that Lisa's father would cry for days and days. Does anyone know?
