The Alphabet then served up new episodes of "Lost" (households: 10.7/17, #2; adults 18-49: 6.4, #2), "Alias" (households: 6.8/11, #4; adults 18-49: 4.5, #3) and the series premiere of "Eyes" (households: 5.7/10, #11; adults 18-49: 3.2, #10). Overall, "Eyes" held a solid 83.8% in households and 71.1% in adults 18-49 of its "Alias" lead-in however fell between half-hours by 10% in households (6.0/10 vs. 5.4/9) and 15% in adults 18-49 (3.4 vs. 2.9).

...so is that average or bad? :(

It's ratings aren't great, or even that good, but if it can retain it's viewer lead-in holds relative to Alias, they'll probably give it another season to try to gain an audience. Still, a 5.7/10 for a drama in the 10 PM slot's not a good thing

It's incredible how this show has been one once and has a thread but 'Medium' doesn't!

I just loved the show, but I'm probably the kiss of death. So many shows I've loved got cancelled or they just stopped being any good.

Dead Like Me is gone.

The Job is gone.

Northern Exposure got stupid.

Wizards and Warriors was cancelled.

There are more, but these are the only ones I can think of right now.

That jerk Marc Berman keeps putting this in the loser column. Sure...****ty shows keep going on forever, but a good show comes and no one watches it. No one in this country knows good TV.

And then someone in his column had the nerve to write in and say Tim Daly isn't a good lead because The Fugitive failed. Oh sure, that's good reasoning.

Next up was ABC (households: 7.4/12, #T1; adults 18-49: 4.2, #2) with new episodes of "Lost" (households: 10.4/17, #2; adults 18-49: 5.7, #2), "Alias" (households: 6.3/10, #9; adults 18-49: 3.8, #5) and "Eyes" (households: 5.6/9, #10; adults 18-49: 3.2, #9). The latter series nearly duplicated its premiere numbers (households: 5.7/10; adults 18-49: 3.2 on 3/30/05) not to mention held an improved 84% in adults 18-49 of its "Alias" lead-in (up from 71% last week).

HORRIBLE. Lowest so far. This show is a goner.

4.3/7 is the fast nationals.

:( I really like it too.

Grey's Anatomy is good but I prefer this over it. :( I'm sad now though it was predictable that it'll be gone.

Too bad for AJ. :(

Its hard to be a winner when you're going up against 2 hit shows.

I think as long as Eyes can stay within 1-2 million viewers of Alias, it'll be fine....Last night was a REALLY bad night for the ENTIRE ABC lineup

Because Lost was a repeat... it actually got BEAT by Dateline. Alias is SO dependent on a strong lead-in.

Alias is SO dependent on a strong lead-in.

Which means that it isn't a strong enough show to stand alone. Yet ABC won't let it go or even think about it (it took half a season off...so, it still came back). Yet, whoops...this is a goner. Network execs are such *******s.

And if Alias is so dependent, that sounds like a terrible show to put a new show after. If something dooms Alias, then it's gonna doom the new show.

Next up was ABC (households: 5.6/9, #4; adults 18-49: 3.0, #3) with a repeat of "Lost" (households: 6.6/12, #4; adults 18-49: 3.1, #T8) followed by new episodes of "Alias" (households: 5.6/9, #7; adults 18-49: 3.2, #T6) and "Eyes" (households: 4.6/8, #13; adults 18-49: 2.6, #12).

Well, this looks like a goner. This is the second ABC show I liked that got canned. Dragnet was the first.

The Alphabet then offered up the special "Lost: The Journey" (households: 8.4/14, #3; adults 18-49: 4.8, #4) followed by new episodes of "Alias" (households: 5.6/9, #9; adults 18-49: 3.4, #T7) and "Eyes" (households: 4.6/8, #T11; adults 18-49: 2.4, #11).

What pisses me off is that Eyes has stayed in the general area of about the same ratings every week and close to Alias's ratings. ALSO, Alias's ratings have dropped this week yet it's already been renewed!

Alias is up against American Idol. Eyes isn't and still gets a lower rating.

The problem for Eyes is there is NO audience for a drama on ABC at that hour... people who are watching dramas are watching L&O or CSI: NY... ABC needs reality or news on at 10 in the Fall. Dramas WILL NOT WORK.

It's not like L&O and CSI: NY are pulling huge numbers, but they are still decent. I think ABC's encores of Lost at 10pm this summer will help whatever airs at 10pm next fall. I think a drama will end up there. A high profile one too, like Soccer Moms or SOLD (aka Westside).
No way Wife Swap will come back to that slot. Its ratings went way down as the season progressed. Similar to what Eyes is scoring now.

Yea but L&O and CSI: NY are established and have been around. CSI:NY being a spinoff of the huge CSI series and L&O being Law and Order. People are familiar with those shows and the majority are going to watch them whether or not their pulling huge numbers. So what if Alias is against American Idol, ABC must of thought it was good enough to compete against American Idol for Alias to be in the timeslot their in. If Eyes was put in a different timeslot, and allow to develop on its own, The ratings would be better... but if Eyes has to go, it has to go... Another great show bites the dust
