Sent in the tuition fee today. University of Central Florida. It was a hard decision since its so far from home(im in ny) but I really want to do it.

Well, at least you got one hurdle down. :) Now I guess you just pick a major, meet some friends, and have a blast. It'll all make you forget about being so far from home. Just pray long and hard for a sane roommate(s).

it's extremely overwhelming to me that in 1-2 years everyone i've been going to school with since elementary school will be going their separate ways into the world. i'm not going to college though, i'm going on american idol.

Some still havent even heard and they have till tomorrow! I'm getting annoyed with all the people at school who still don't know where they want to go considering there's only 7 more weeks of school. I'm scared about next year but I'm also so freaking ready for HS to be over. I don't know how much longer I can put up with pointless homework and people who don't seem to be going anywhere in life.

good luck. hey you're a lot braver than me. my college for next year is like 20 minutes away. I'm getting annoyed with all the people at school who still don't know where they want to go considering there's only 7 more weeks of school. I'm scared about next year but I'm also so freaking ready for HS to be over. I don't know how much longer I can put up with pointless homework and people who don't seem to be going anywhere in life.

Are you going to still be living at home? Because half the reason for going to college is that you're finally on your own and you don't have to listen to anyone's rules but your own. I know that if I was still living at home, I'd go insane. Luckily I live 300 miles from home on the other side of the state.

Yeah I am but it's not worth the extra $$$ to live 20 minutes away on campus. I don't think it's half the reason to be in college.. I'm more concerned with my education. My parents aren't strick with me at all because I don't do anything bad. I think I'll be okay. Plus, this is only undergrad.. I want to be a psychologist so I can always go away for grad school and beyond.

Oh I know. The only thing that changed for me was the living situation and not seeing my parents everyday, but homework, lectures, note taking, etc., didn't change a bit. But on a whole, I think the work load is a lot easier. Or maybe it's because It's for thing for my major and not stupid reqirements.

No, actually it was Cedar Falls. Iowa City might have been a better place to live...though I've never actually been there. I get to the outlet mall in Williamsburg and don't get any farther. :lol:

All I took that year was stupid gen ed courses, but half the time, it was the exact same stuff I'd done in HS. My chem class was almost a duplicate, as was the Econ class. Though if you'd have watched my roommate, you'd would have thought all a college girl does is study. :p :rolleyes:

Also, the fact that the sign for how many miles left to a big city is given ever 2 - 3 miles. So like, I constantly saw DES MOINES 152, DES MOINES 149, DES MOINES 147, DES MOINES 144. They should post it every 10 - 15 miles or so it doesn't feel like you're getting there at a snail's pace.

Yea, I usually keep 5 - 10 above the limit, so I was going 70 - 75, but the fact is if it's 75, I could go 80 - 85. That's wat annoyed me. fantastic choice. i wanted to go there, since it's only 2 hours away from me, but i decided to just stay in-town. my close friend goes there though, and i went and visited her. it looks like a great school.


edit -- UCF is also really near the millenia mall, which is awesome, and it's near Disney, Universal/Islands of Adventure, and other amusement parks (Seas World, Wet N Wild)

It's painfully slow there..and I ain't getting pulled over again, so I keep it around 71 when I'm in Iowa. Every other state I drive through is at least 70!

Yeah, it's really scaring that everything's chaning so fast; within the past weeks everyone's found out about their UC admissions and other colleges and it's too fast! Two of my very close friends are going to Israel next year and ugh...I am going to hate August. I've already decided on where I'm going (just have to convince my dad....what fun that will be.). Any tips on how to survive in New York City?
