Does anyone else feel that it was really, really BAD? I just saw the re-run and was so mad that it ended like that, with the last line being Frank telling Carol what the toaster thinks of her buns. And I know they didn't know it was ending, but couldn't they have at least had somewhat of a season finale? I mean, nothing got resolved. And if you notice at the table, Mark and Rich aren't even there!

Any other opinions?

i think after SBS changed networks in 98, the show's ratings went WAY down. Why did they change networks? I liked the finale but it was kinda weird, much like you said, AnneJaye! Welcome to Sitcoms Online AnneJaye! :)

I still don't get why Step by Step had to change networks either. I think ABC was the better network for a show like this. Anyway, TV shows never get proper endings when they're cancelled. :(

Thanks for the welcome, Tiff! I've been trolling around here just reading posts for a few weeks and decided to join. I'm trying to think of some good threads to rejuvinate the STS board since it seems not many people have posted lately...

But I also wanted to add one more thing: Mark, Rich AND Lily aren't at the table during the last scene of the last episode. That was kind of wrong, in my opinion. I also thought the should've made them move. I think it would have forced the series along (in the viewer's mind at least)to have closure in the fact that the family is moving on and doing something new...not just staying in the same house, doing the same old things.
