View Full Version : Season 3 DVD
double-t 03-28-2005, 09:23 PM Does anyone know when and if the last season of this series will be released? I'm anxious to complete my collection of this funny sitcom. I can't believe this show only lasted three seasons. It seemed longer when I was watching as a kid in the 70s. Perhaps by the summer?
Pavan 03-28-2005, 09:53 PM Still no word. Hopefully late this summer. I predict July or August.
robby76 03-30-2005, 11:46 AM Is the last season as funny as the first two? I didn't like the last episode of Season 2 when they moved into their new apartment, and it's kinda put me off buying Season3.

No, in my opinion Season 3 was not as funny as the first two seasons.
seventies_sitcoms 03-30-2005, 12:52 PM I remember not liking the final season episodes as well as the older ones. I'll probably will check Season 3 out from the library if it is released. I still haven't seen Season 2 yet.
robby76 03-30-2005, 10:29 PM I only have Season 2, is Season 1 worth buying? I've heard the characters hadn't formed that well yet and that Shirley didn't have a big role.

YES!!!! Forget what you heard, the show was funny as hell in the first season. There are some classic episodes during season 1: The Burger Queen, The Hospital Stay, etc., etc.
GET IT!!!!

I don't even recall season 3, but will puchase. ITA, buy season 1!
Brian Damage 04-05-2005, 11:04 AM Season one was great (not as good as season 2) but great none the less.
TVFactFan 04-05-2005, 10:28 PM I'm buying season 3 because Rollo from Sanford and Son makes another guest appearance-"Food Poisoning"

Does that mean you wouldn't buy it if he wasn't a season 3 guest?
TVFactFan 04-05-2005, 10:55 PM Does that mean you wouldn't buy it if he wasn't a season 3 guest?
Probably Not, Nathaniel Taylor's appearance in season 3 was one of the Highlights.

Sweet! Where did you get that info from? That's great. Lately, quite a few TV shows are finishing up on DVD. Sanford and Son, Gilligan's Island (which is also a 3 season show), and Lost in Space.

I watched that show all the time as a kid.
One of guest stars went to star on Married With Children. I couldn't believe it was him at first.
I want to get What's Happening Now on DVD too.

Are you talking about BIG EARL? I remember Big Earl playing a car salesman on Married with Children as a guest but never became a cast member
Living In a '70's Dream 04-28-2005, 08:08 PM I am definitely buying the 3rd season DCD of What's Happening!! to complete the series; and I would CARE LESS if this "particular" season was the funniest or not! :p

Cover looks pretty decent.
Dwayne in drag as Suzanne Somers?!? I don't remember that episode, looking forward to it though. I hope they have a new trailer on this set that says "What's Happening Now - Season One, Coming Soon." Then again, by Sony's standards, soon will be two or three years from now.
vashti1999 06-02-2005, 10:47 AM Dwayne in drag as Suzanne Somers?!? I don't remember that episode.
I take that back. I just remembered they did a spoof of different shows. I remember that episode now.

Yup, Rerun played Jack Tripper, Mork and Fonzie
robby76 06-04-2005, 11:06 AM A spoof episode and a great cover like that... I'm throwing caution to the wind and buying this!!! Shame I have to wait so long!

Does that also mean no booklet? I just got Sanford and Son Season 6 and the scrapbook is pretty decent. I wanted to ask you if you knew if Sony might do something like that for the final What's Happening set, or Soap, or when the last Good Times set (hopefully) comes out next year. They should do a booklet like this to go with every final season they release.

It's hard to believe that Dee got big that quickly.

Dwayne was going to drop out of school to sell PEANUTS and walk around with a Peanut on his Head and you say Rerun was the dimwitted one? You really got to be kiddin me.
mlingerfelt 09-30-2005, 01:56 PM looking forward to Seasons of WHN to be released does anybody have any idea that will be released.

Yeah, guess Dwayne's not too bright either. LOL! Raj's the intelligent one with all the brains although he gets into trouble and gets hassled by Dee who constantly gives him a hard time.
mlingerfelt 10-01-2005, 08:49 AM S3 was even funny. I cannot believe this show lasted only 3 seasons.I would love to have S1 of WHN. I did not think S3 would be that good so far I have enjoyed this. bring on S1 WHN.
comedyfreak 12-19-2005, 10:28 AM At first, I thought the 3rd season was pretty weak. But after seeing all the episodes from the dvd, I've concluded that it was pretty good after all.
Brieannas21 12-19-2005, 05:23 PM I wonder why Dee wasn't on the cover of the DVD's.
CindyRoxiesLair2006 12-19-2005, 08:35 PM I wonder why Dee wasn't on the cover of the DVD's.
...I was wondering the very same thing, Brieannas. Dee should've been on the cover (at least, included on the cover among some of the others) of at least one of the WH DVD packs. She basically stole the show with each running episode. That is a fact and several halves! LOL, not kidding
Anyhow, now that I've got the whole DVD collection of WH, I can honestly say that out of the three seasons, Season 1 was the funniest.
Season 3 comes in at a pretty close second, though...
:p
robby76 12-19-2005, 08:55 PM What?!!? I never bought Season 3 cos I thought it was supposedly really really bad! I agree Season 1 is way better than Season 2, and now I'm gonna have to seriously consider buying the last season! I wish I could see clips to see what it was like.

Yeah, Robby, you betcha that Season 3 is worth buying! When you do get a hold of it, you will see what we mean by hilarious and enjoyable; besides, this particular season is kind of a "maturing-characters' prelude" to what went down in the "all-new" What's Happening Now (WHN), which still has yet to come out on DVD...
(Hopefully SOON, though)

mlingerfelt 12-26-2005, 04:48 PM that,s my wish for 2006.
CindyRoxiesLair2006 12-29-2005, 07:35 PM From what I've been seeing lately on that DVD-voting site, WHN has a whole lot of votes from folks that really want it to come out on a season-set basis...
Hopefully it's "approved" and will debut soon enough.

mlingerfelt 01-01-2006, 03:06 PM thanks Cindy how many votes are they now.
CindyRoxiesLair2006 01-01-2006, 08:18 PM thanks Cindy how many votes are they now.
...no problem, mlingerfelt, hopefully it'll be soon that WHN will be out on DVD!!!
Incidentally enough, the last time I checked that particular voting site, there were about 200,000 votes for WHN to debut on a season-set basis, on DVD.
Hopefully we'll see it soon, heh? :talk:
Anyhow, you've gotta get the Season 3 of WH on DVD, if you haven't already, mlingerfelt. Have you got the other two seasons of WH, by the way? (just curious)

I seriously doubt the number was 200,000.
CindyRoxiesLair2006 01-01-2006, 11:33 PM I seriously doubt the number was 200,000.
Sorry, it was a typo on my part...
I meant to say nearly 20,000 TOTAL VOTES...(that includes the breakdown of whether or not they chose it to be: Season Sets, Individual DVD's, etc.).
My bad...
Anyways, hopefully WHN will debut soon on DVD! I'll keep watching for it & keeping open ears, if the rest of you will.

mlingerfelt 01-03-2006, 10:14 PM yes Cindy I have all 3 seasons just waiting for WHN which I think it will be soon if there is 20,000 votes that is a lot of votes keep me posted.Cindy.

Definitely, mlingerfelt... you'll be posted on WHN and its eventual debut on DVD.
Meantime, though...it's good that you have all 3 Seasons of WH on DVD. At least you can watch it whenever you want to, and as often as you like!!!
I sure as heck do!!!
In Season 3, Disc 3, on "Shirley's Fired", I love it when Dee does that rendition of Shirley Temple's "Lollipop" song, in order to keep Rob's fiancee Liz from "escaping". TOO MUCH!!!
 :happyface
mlingerfelt 01-07-2006, 11:22 PM they are all funny.
