The premiere did excellent in the ratings, delivering a 10.0/17 in fast nationals, 11.3/18 in the overnights, 16.25 million viewers and a 7.2/18 among adults 18-49. Fast nationals were almost 2 ratings point higher than Boston Legal does. Boston Legal had 13.07 million viewers and an A18-49 rating of 4.8/13, for its premiere. If this holds up, I think Boston Legal will be on the move next season to Tuesday or Thursday at 10pm. Maybe Grey's Anatomy will also be on the move next fall if it lasts and does well, because I see Soccer Moms in that slot next season.

I thought it was brilliant. I was honestly expecting some sort of sappy drama that was focused more on the fact that our lead heroine slept with her boss. While that was a factor in the pilot it was not the focus. And that surprised me. I wonder how realistic it is, all these interns seem a little old, but I can let that slide. I will be watching this again, it showed a lot of promise, especially for a premiere episode having to set everything up.

I hate needles, blood, medicine, & hospitals.... but loved this show. It's no Desperate Housewives, and not even Boston Legal, but I liked it a lot and will continue to tune in.

I just hope ABC makes room for both this and BL in the fall.

Pavan.... and idea as to where we can expect this after its month long run in the BL timeslot??

I loved this show. I hope the ratings hold up. So far I like all of ABC's midseason shows.

Well, the April 17 airing is labeled the season finale, so I guess they will only air four episodes and air the other 9 in the summer or the fall? If this continues to do well, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in May on Thursdays (but not the first two Thursdays, as ABC has already scheduled network television premiere movies then).

Sounds good.
ABC has really impressed me this year. I've liked 6 of their 8 new dramas. Two of them are now my two favorite of all time. Hopefully next year is just as impressive, preferably on the sitcom side.

I loved Grey's Anatomy. This will definetly be back next season.

Let's hope it's ratings can hold up for this week's episode.

The pilot was awesome imo. Not much more I can say (cant think of anything else to say) It's late and I just felt like stating that I enjoyed it.

As for Boston Legal, did the Boston Public crossover air and if so when will it rerun?

If you thought the pilot did well in the ratings, you will be more impressed with episode 2. The pilot last week did a stellar 10.0/7 ... this week it BUILT on that and scored a 11.4/18.

ABC has found yet another hit drama in the ratings. Now, I think ABC might keep the show on Sunday nights next fall, but I think a move to Tuesdays at 10 is still possible.

I watched it last night for the first time, having missed it last week. I loved it. It's so real. I would love to see it stay after DH for the rest of the season, then move opposite ER next season.

When I first saw that I did a doubletake and thought it had to be a misprint. Incredibly impressive.

Personally, I like the show. I hope ABC finds a good spot for it after the try-out period.

I have to say that I liked it even though I usually don't go for those dramedies. But this one for some reason got me interested and I like it. :)

I liked the second episode even better too. I hope they decide to air all the shows they have filmed and not hold them over to next season.

Missed the first two episodes? Fear not, ABC will reair them tomorrow from 9-11pm ET:

"Grey’s Anatomy" will air as one time only telecasts on Saturday, April 9, 2005 in the 9:00 PM & 10:00 PM ET/PT time periods.

These will be the first two episode encore telecasts of "Grey’s Anatomy."

ABC Saturday Movie Of The Week "About A Boy" was previously scheduled to air in the 9:00 - 11:00 PM ET/PT time period on this date.

Excellent news, Grey's Anatomy will be around for May, so it should be airing new episodes until May 15 or 22, so 8 or 9 episodes. It would be wise to air the other 4 or 5 unaired ones next fall, so it can get extra episodes, like Boston Legal will...

“GREY’S ANATOMY” TO CONTINUE AIRING SUNDAYS AT 10:00 P.M. ON THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

“Boston Legal” Will Return for the 2005-06 Season with 27 Original Episodes

The ABC Television Network announced today that “Grey’s Anatomy” will continue airing Sundays at 10:00 p.m., ET, through the end of the season, with “Boston Legal” scheduled to return for 2005-06 with 27 original episodes, which will include the five episodes not aired this season. “We’re in the enviable position of having two shows that have each performed extremely well for us Sundays at 10:00 – ‘Boston Legal and ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ We had already picked up ‘Boston Legal’ for next year based on its stellar run thus far this season. Now, with the strong debut of ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ we are very optimistic about having an additional asset of tremendous value heading into Fall,” said Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. “However, with this embarrassment of riches comes a tough decision. Ultimately we decided that, without having adequate lead time or marketing dollars to devote to moving either show so late in the season, we’d continue to let ‘Grey’s’ build on its tremendous momentum through May. We’re extremely excited that this will give us the amazing luxury of bringing ‘Boston Legal’ back next season with an unheard-of 27 original episodes.”

Season to date, since its March 27 premiere, “Grey’s Anatomy” is a dominant No. 1 in its time period, overshadowing its closest competition by 6.7 million viewers (17.0 million vs. 10.3 million - NBC) and beating the combined delivery of CBS and NBC in the time slot by 32% among Adults 18-49 (7.4/18 vs. 5.6/14=CBS and NBC combined). “Grey’s Anatomy” is delivering ABC’s best retention yet in the time period coming out “Desperate Housewives.” The show qualifies as the highest ranking midseason TV program and also has the distinction as the only drama this television season (returning and new) to build its audience from Week 1 to Week 2. In addition, “Grey’s” is producing ABC’s strongest series ratings among young adults in the hour since “The Practice” during the 2000-01 TV Season.

“Grey’s Anatomy” stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Isaiah Washington as Preston Burke, Katherine Heigl as Isobel “Izzie” Stevens, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, T.R. Knight as George O’Malley, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey and James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber.

Shonda Rhimes (“Introducing Dorothy Dandridge”) is creator and executive producer. Mark Gordon (“Saving Private Ryan”), Betsy Beers (“200 Cigarettes”) and Jim Parriott (“The American Embassy”) are executive producers. Peter Horton is co-executive producer. “Grey’s Anatomy” is a Touchstone Television Production.

So far the pilot is pretty good... not great. It's enough to keep me watching(especially considering there's nothing else on right now).

He just keeps getting better and better with age. I rediscovered him in Sweet Home Alabama and the ABC family movie Lucky Seven.

What a hunk he is now.

I can't wait for tonight's show....I love the perspective from the students and all the storylines they get going in one episode.

Episode 4's ratings: 12.5/20 -- another series high. It seems after every episode, a series high is notched. Unbelievable.

Yep... when I looked at the ratings on Zap2it just now I thought it was a mistake. Incredible. I don't know of any show that has done that.

He is quite yummy. Even if the show stunk I would still tune in just to see Patrick.
