He hit the Glenn Scarpelli (who I met briefly in the early 1990s,we also share the same first name.) character Alex. Alex accidentally burned down Schneider's house trailer and Schnieder hit the kid in a fit of rage.

Could not say you blamed him, but he felt very remorseful because Schneider is a nice dude otherwise. Even though the two eventually hugged and shook hands, there still was some resentment on Schnieder's part, and Alex was more or less a work slave to Schnieder until the damages were paid off.
