Who's your fave character and why???

My favorite character is by far Rose, she's so funny! And Blanche is cool too!

Actually I liked them all. It's hard to decide. I suppose I liked the mother/daughter duo, Sophia and Dorothy. They both had a great sense of humor - you wonder how they did it with such a straight face. I like Sophia's cute 'pet name' for Dorothy. Kinda funny considering Dorothy is this big, towering, domineering woman - nothing like the name suggests!

My favorite character is Rose. She is so funny especially with the St. Olaf stories.

It's hard to choose one specific character, because it was an ensemble show, not just one star. Dorothy had great one-liners, but Sophia had some zingers too. Betty White truly brought a naivete' (sp) to Rose, and Blanche was just crazy. So, I'd have to vote 4 ways...

PS -- Did anyone know that when the show was cast, Rue McClanahan was supposed to play Rose, and Betty White play Blanche? They switched it because Betty White had already played a "sexpot" -- Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore show.

i like dorothy, rose, and sophia. i can't stand blanche

My favorite character is Blanche. She is funny, smart, and pretty. She thinks she's God's gift to men, but that what makes her funny.

I love Rose. She's very wacky, especially when she mentions St. Olaf.

blanche is my favorite. she is so wild with the men.

Even though I LOVE all the Golden Girls, I'd have to go with Dorothy, hands down. My fav. is dorothy because she is just hands down HISTERICAL. My second fav. has gotta be Blanche but in a way all of them are my favorites because each one of them brings a certain charm to the show.

I liked Rose the best. She was really funny.

I liked them all too but my favorite was Dorothy. She was smart, practical and still funny. She had some great lines.

Rose is my favorite.

I like Dorothy best because she was the only dependable one there. She was very competent. I dont think the girls could have lived there without her.

I also like them all in their own way. Dorothy's continuous sarcastic remarks, Rose's St. Olaf stories not to mention her being totally without commom sense, Sophia's ficticious Sicily stories and her always making fun of the other 3 girls, and Blanche's wild sex life and her conceitedness.

My favorite was Sophia, she always made me laugh. At times though I thought she could be mean, but I loved her anyway.

Sophia. Hands down. Ok, first off she is almost exactly like my grandmother anyway, second-my roommate thinks I'm EXACTLY like her and will probably end up treating my kids and grandkids the same (and being mean to the paperboy), and 3rd-any woman who smacks a teenager for mouthing off and puts them in their place is A NUMBER ONE on my list!!!

My roommate is a lot like Blanche and Rose mixed into one, and I think for those reasons I like Blanche and Rose...not to mention Rose can always get by with the dumb blonde routine and it doesn't get old.

I like Blanche. She's cool...but even if I am from the south...I hate southern accents...I want an accent like Nancy's...but I'm done. Blanche is cool.
