As we S&S fans well know, throughout the series, the Grady character was known to exclaim "Good Goobildy Goop!" in moments of surprise or disbelief. I'm starting to use this in my everyday vocabulary, mostly because Grady Wilson/Whitman Mayo was just downright cool.
Anyhow, I have a quick question....did I spell the above phrase correctly? Just curious. Thanks!

I almost always heard him say "Good goobity-woo". He said it mostly as kind-of a rhyme, like "Good goobity-woo, what happened to you?", or "Good goobity-woo, what's wrong with you?"
Those came from the episodes where Grady substituted for Fred. This "goobly-goop" stuff must not have happened until later on. Am I right on that?

Good point. I never thought of it that way, but now that you mentioned it, you could be right. It definitely sounds easier to say "woo" than "goop". It would make sense that "goop" came later. Thanks for the input.

I always heard "Good Goobilly Goop"
It was especially evident during the Senior Olympics ep. when Lou Turner was trying to remember the phrase. Then Grady, feeling the need to correct him, said: "no, that's good goobilly GOOP!"
