Two arrested in brutal east-end robbery
A 36-year-old man was brutally beaten Friday night in a robbery in Montreal's Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district.
The victim was withdrawing money from an ATM when he was attacked by two individuals wielding baseball bats. The ensuing struggle left him with multiple contusions and two broken arms.
The victim was nevertheless able to identify the suspects' vehicle, which was tracked down by police two hours after the attack.
Police have taken a 21-year-old and a 25-year-old man into custody in connection with the incident. Both suspects are known to have gang ties.
