In the first episode, the hall leading to the linea (is that's how it's spelled?) appears to lead to Blanche's room.

The story about how and why Stan ended up getting Dorothy pregnant changes almost every time it's told.

Dorothy says her mother reacted furiously and unlovingly, saying "Get Out, you're dead, I have no daughter named Dorothy!" However, when we see the flashback, Sophia reaction is nothing like that.

The stroke that destroyed Sophia's sensors does not affect her as much as it should- she occasionally stops herself from mouthing off.

The same few buildings are used for various external shots- such as the television studio Rose works for is the same a one in California, and a house in Miami is the same as one in New York.

When Blanche tells the girls she's pregnant (she's not, of course), Rose faints. In a later episode, when Sophia announces she's getting married, Dorothy faints. When she revives and says she'd never fainted before, Rose says "Neither have I."

In one episode, Blanche says her husband died from a sickness. In a later episode she says he died in an accident.

The peephole in the door is only there in episodes where it's used.

Miles's daughter would not have been able to know where her father was, since he was in the Witness Protection Program.

Rose says in one episode that the Nylunds were her adoptive parents. However, Nylund is her MARRIED name. She should have said the LINDSTROMS were her adoptive parents.

In the final episode, Sophia takes a picture of Blanche and Rose hugging, and they turn to look at her. Later, we see the picture, and it shows them looking at the camera in surprise, but they didn't turn until after the shot was taken.

There's one mistake I've noticed while watching the Golden Girls. On one episode, Dorothy said she never went to her senior prom. And there was the episode when Dorothy reunites with her old prom date (who stood her up and she didn't go.) Then Sophia always reminds Dorothy how she and Stan got pregnant after their prom. Then Dorothy and Stan were talking about their memories of their prom. I don't get it. Either Dorothy went to prom or she didn't go. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/confused.gif

is it me or when you see the outside of the house before the scenes and then look at the layout from inside.....it doesn't seem to match...or am i crazy???...

Your not crazy, your correct. It doesn't seem to match at all. Sometimes when the girls come back from dates they show them right outside the door and there is nothing like that when they show the house. You know what I mean?

The la-nye (im spelling phonetically, havent a clue how to spell it right) has changed 3 times at least over the seasons...and at one point there was even an entryway to it. (The episode where the hurricane happened and their neighbor Gordon Jump said he wasn't removing the tree that fell in their yard so Sophia placed a curse on him.)

That's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that hasn't been said, and I've seen every episode.

Okay, I have more:

The number of children and siblings Blanche and Rose have changes constantly. We well know that Dorothy has two siblings and two children, and that Sophia has two siblings and three children, but on occasion, Blanche and Rose mention children or siblings that we never see or hear about, and outnumber the number of childrenor siblings they say they have.

One time it is implied that Dorothy was only five or six years old when her brother was born, but when we see a flashback to when he was born she's way older than that.

Some of the flashbacks to the earlier years show the girls (especially Sophia) looking like they did in the later years.

Dorothy's son's age jumps from 23 to 30 in less than two years.

Blanche's daughter Rebecca shows up blonde and very fat early in the show, but much slimmer and brunette a couple of seasons later (played by a different actress- it's acceptable that she worked out, but she couldn't schange that much, that fast)

In the episode in which Blanche supposedly slept with Rose's husband Charlie, she finds this hard to believe, but Rose MUST have had pictures of Charlie that Blanche would have seen.

I don't know if this counts as a goof, but... Blanche is supposed to be the youngest, right? Well if you work it out from a hint thrown in the Mother's Day episode, it seems that she and Dorothy were born in the same year.

If the word is spelled the same as the Hawaiian island then it's "Lanai".


But anyway, I have a question. You guys know that one episode (I think it was the 2nd season finale) when the girls remember how they met?? Well, I can't figure out if that one part where Rose is telling the story about the Herring if Bea and Rue are really cracking up, or was it really part of the script for them to be laughing like that. Because the way I see it, Bea messed up, but the cameras kept rolling, then Betty started ad-libbing and both Rue and Bea couldn't stop laughing. Has anyone else noticed this???

Another "oops" moment...

In the first season (I believe), Rose is asked out by "Arnie," to a weekend cruise. Arnie is played by Harold Gould, who later became Myles Webber. (This was a hilariousepisode because, I believe, it's where we learn how Charlie REALLY died).

I'm not really sure if this is a goof/mistake, but in one of the episodes
aunt Angela came to visit and Sophia said something along the lines of this "Angela and I are the only ones left of the original family", but they had a brother,
uncle Angelo, what about him?

:wave: There are a few mistakes that I have noticed. The first is that when Angela visits, name is Petrillo. Wasn't Petrillo Sophia's married name? Because in the episode in which Dorothy was supposidly switched at birth her so-called father said he couldn't believe that this was little Dorothy Petrillo

Next mistake is when Sophia baby sat Dryphis the dog, she said that the two dogs got mixed up. But before she put them in the bedroom it is clearly seen that one dog had a blue collar and the other had a silver one.

Sophia also describes the way Dorothy was concieved in many different ways throughout the series.

Also another question is about Roses mother. On the first season she was visiting Rose but later on Rose said that her Mom was dead. They never explained it. They did explain Big Daddy dieing.

There are other mistakes that I have found but right now I am pressed for time. The Golden Girls is coming on in a few minutes! I'll share more later!!!

OMG, what is it?! What's the hint, and how do we figure it out?! :eek:

I didn't think there was ANYthing revealed about her age...

Another oversight: In one episode, Rose said that she never graduated from high school because she caught a nasty case of mono from manning the kissing booth at a St. Olaf carnival. In another episode, she tells the girls that she attended an agricultural college and was in a sororiety called the Alpha Yams! Don't know how she could have gotten into college without finishing high school!!! :)

I some episodes they say Dorothy was breast fed and then in the episode where Dorothy is slirping the malt from the blender and Sophia comes in she says something like: "Is it any wonder why I never breast fed her."

Anyway, here are more:

Here's a biggie. In Stan's first episode, Dorothy gives his age as 65. This would make him at least 10 years older than her. The implication is that they were in high school together, so this doesn't make any sense. He would be, at most, two or three years older.

In the Bob Hope episode, Rose again refers to her adoptive parents as the NYLUNDS.

When Big Daddy visits, he refers to Blanche's mother as Elizabeth, but in the episode where Blanche tries to get into a Southener's club, she says her mother's name was Rebecca.

Max Weinstock says that Dorothy had "long, golden blonde hair", but in all the flashbacks, Dorothy was brunette.

Sophia's Sicily stories (although they're clearly untrue) don't match her age, especially since she's having sex in most of them. The date she uses most often is 1912. She would have been only six years old.

When Rose first describes how Charlie died, she says he didn't die right away. She says she had time to dress him and that he was alive when the paramedics arrived. Later mentionings of the incident lead us to believe he died then and there.

The number of children Dorothy's brother Phil has changes from 4 to 6 to 10.

Dorothy's high school reunion is in Miami, but she grew up in Brooklyn.

In the flashbacks to Sophia and Dorothy's apartment in Brooklyn, the location of the kitchen and front door change.

It is stated numerous times throughout the series that Dorothy and Stan were married 38 years. And since they were married because she was knocked up, one of the kids should be at least 40 years old. Both of them appear to be in their twenties. Kate's age is never mentioned, but Michael's... (see above).

In Big Daddy's first episode, he tells Blanche that he sold their house, but after he dies, she goes back to it.

For a while into the series, Dorothy claims she hasn't slept with anyone since her divorce. However, we learn in one episode that she slept with the divorce lawyer, and early on in the series she had a very physical affair with Glenn O'Brien.
