I need some help with burning songs on a CD. Yesterday I bought a pack of CD-RW cd's to burn songs on CD's. Well, I burned one for my mom yesterday but the only problem is it will NOT play in any other CD player except my computer cd player. I KNOW it burned the songs because I took out the CD and then put it back into the cd drive and it worked there. I tried it on 3 different CD players and it would not play the CD at all! I'm kind of pissed off because I spent 10 bucks on these CD's! I really HOPE that they can be played other places besides my computer.
So anyone know WHY the cd won't play on other players??

2 things:
1. you need to make sure that the other cd-players are CDRW compatible - not all players can read these disks, you'd have less problems with the write-once CDR's
2. you need to finalize the disks - basically close the disks so that the table that designates where all the files are is complete, any standalone cdplayer needs this to be able to read it. How to do this depends on which software you are using, but it should give you instructions in the help files.

I just went to the help section at iTunes and found this:
If you plan to play the CD on a consumer CD player, you need to use a blank CD-R disc, not a CD-RW disc.
 The guy at the store told us to buy the CD-RW kind because it's faster! Idiot. I'm really pissed off now. I doubt I can return them now since I already opened the package up! Well, I won't make THAT mistake again!
Thanks for your help anyway!

complain to the manager, tell him your story and point the guy who "helped" you out to him, maybe he'll give you some credit for some blank cdr's...
