What is your favorite and least favorite season of American Idol and why?

Honestly, I think, though it's not finished yet, that season 4 is my favorite. The top 12 this year is just so much more talented than the top 12 of any other season. No one in the top 12 is really horrible. I think each of them deserves to be there and brings something unique to the show. With all the other seasons, there are people that I just wondered week after week how they were even voted into the top 12.

If I had to choose my least favorite season, it'd definitely be season 1. I only really liked 3 people that season...Kelly, RJ, and Tamyra. Well maybe 4...Nikki was pretty good too. All the others were just....nothing special. And that finale was totally predictable. The season 2 Ruben vs Clay and season 3 Fantasia vs Diana were not predictable at all. The votes were split pretty evenly during the season 2 and 3 finales. But watching the season 1 finale, I almost felt like I didn't even need to watch it because I knew Kelly would win.

Season 2 was definitely my favorite. I never watched season 1, so I got really obsessed with AI when I watched 2. I never missed an episode, and I just had alot of favorites. I cried when Clay lost :lol: I really really wanted him to win, but now, he's alright. I think I prefer Ruben better now, even though he does nothing.
Hm.. my least favorite season is probably 3. It sucked because I only had 2 favorites (Matt and Diana), and Fantasia won the whole thing. I wasn't into the season as much as I was in 2.
I really like this season because I love the top 12. I love the rockers especially, because they have really made it far. My absolute favorite is Carrie, so I hope she wins.

Season 2, definitely. But this one is a close second because of my Connie. :D

Season 3 was my least favorite.

I like 3rd and this season the best. Probably cos they're the only ones I've watched. But this season, like Kristina said, everyone is good. EVERYONE. Even the ones I can't stand. And last season, there were only like... 3 that really WEREN'T GOOD.

The first two seasons don't really appeal to me. In the 1st season, I only like Kelly, Nikki, and Tamyra, and in the 2nd season, I only like Vanessa, Julia, the two Kims, Carmen, and Clay (okay, that's a lot, but still). But I don't know... they had sucky song choices.

I like Season 3 because my five favorites made the final five, and all in all, it was just an exciting season. There were really good nights and really bad nights, but now that I look back at it, it was a good season. It was also very "young" which I liked.

This season, I won't be surprised if it'll end up being my favorite, because I can honestly say that the remaining 10 this year are talented as I don't know what. The person who ends up getting 9th place will probably be more talented then the person who made 5th place in the past seasons.

Season 2 was good, there was some amazing talent + performances, but some nights were just dull, and there were a lot of contestants who were just.... there (Charles, Corey, Trenyce etc.). A lot didn't have spark, but Clay and the two Kims saved it :)

Season 1 was really good in terms of the Tamyra and Kelly battle, but when compared with the past few seasons, the top 10 doesn't even compare to the one they have this year. I mean, AJ Gil, Jim Verraros and Ejay Day? and even Ryan Starr. They wouldn't have made it far at all this season.

Season 2 was by far my favorite for obvious reasons. I had never looked forward to it each week than AI2. I was crushed when Clay lost.

Season 3 was awesome because I watched it obsessively since the first episode, and I had quite a few I liked. Of course, they none of them won.

Season 4 started off amazing for me, and each week it slowly goes down hill. This was the first year I actually loved the semi-finals, my favorite episode is still top 12 boys night. Girls night was only good for the dawg pound. I had more favorites last year, but the ones I liked this year I loved more, they just decided to leave me. I actually prefer the Hollywood auditions over the top 12 shows. Plus there was Tammy Nash.

Season 1 is my least favorite for 2 reasons. Justin Guarini and Brian Dunkleman.

Season 4 is my favorite, probably because its the first season i've seen from the beginning. :lol: I started watching Season 3 at like, the final 5

Season 1 was definately the worst because of its rookie status and the fact it was in the summer and only 10 finalists. I did not care much for Season 3 either, I mean only 4 guys, John Stevens whom was the whitest person I have ever seen, and the sissy black dude, the country boy and the sissy white dude, and all the girls were like 16 years old and like Sophmores in high school, when I was a sophmore I was still throwing food at lunchtime. Season 2 and 4 are so much better by far than Season 1 and 3.
