Funny you should bring this up. My soon to be husband and I have been arguing for the past 3 weeks over names for our future kids. I wrote down all the ones that I like best and he did the same thing. My favorites are -

Boys -
Patrick
William
Timothy
Andrew
Robert
Joel
Thomas - Never much cared for this till I met my fiance Tom
Mitchel -To honor my sister Michele who passed away
Spencer - This is growing on me and it's the only name that I chose that Tom halfway likes

Girls -
Elizabeth
Katharine
Christine
Allison
Stephanie
Caroline
Melanie
Valerie

For comparison I'll list my future husbands faves -

Boys -
Dashiell - I've been ranting and raving about this name for weeks but Tom still insists that we name our future son this
Alistair
Ronan
Lachlen - Bleck, reminds me of Lochness Monster
Malcolm
Tristan
Harrison - It may work for Harrison Ford but not for any child of mine
Beau
Vance
Warrick

Girls -
Aishling - I couldn't even begin to tell you how this is pronounced
Ailis - Another name I can't pronounce
Bronwyn
Tess - I might consider this as it is my future MILs name
Carys
Rhiannon - Love the song but would never saddle my child with a name like this

As you can see the future father of my children and I have completely different tastes in names.

I like your choices but not your fiance's. You have my sympathy. :(
I hope that you go with Spencer(call him Spence) That's kind of cool!

Aishling - I couldn't even begin to tell you how this is pronounced

i know a girl with that name. i think those are disgusting names your future husband likes (no offense). here are my choices:

Girls

Amanda
Rebecca
Makayla
Jessica
Leah
Jennifer

Boys

Scott
Ethan
Jared
Adam
Michael
Evan

i like my cousin's name (Damen) but its uncommon and i wouldn't name my kids that. Mijada (sorry i don't know your name) why don't you give that as a suggestion for your husband and see if he likes it? he probably would.

I know about 3 people called Aishling.

How is it pronounced? I've never seen or heard of it before because it seems like every other girl I grew up with was either named Jennifer or Lisa. My fiance says Ashling like Ashley but I don't get the spelling and it would just cause confusion. The last thing I want is confusing names for my children. I've had so much of that living with the name Kristin. No one can ever spell or say it right. I get Christine, Christian, Kristen, Kirsten, Kristie and the million other variations all the time.

Oh my...your fiance sure has unique taste in names. Did he make some of them up in his sleep? Cuz, naming a kid something unpronounceable is just...crazy. How do you pronounce Carys?

Tom says Carys is pronounced like Paris. His mother is of Welsh descent and many of the names he likes are Welsh/Irish in origin and are quite popular over there. I told him that if we ever move to Ireland or Wales or wherever else those names originate I would be more than happy to use them. :)

Ah...I guess that's why they seem weird. Caris...that certainly is unique for an American.

Thomas - Never much cared for this till I met my fiance Tom

Its the opposite for me,I'd never name my child Tom because my Mum's ex husband's name is Tom,and he was an arsehole,so I wouldn't want her to be reminded of him.Plus,I always associate Thomas with 'Thomas the Tank Engine'.
But that raises a question,Dont you hate it when you're put off a certain name because you know someone with it,who you dislike? I can definetly say I have.
