View Full Version : Bad News for Life on a Stick
Miss Golden 03-24-2005, 03:11 AM With the American Idol mishap with the voting which caused Life on a Stick to get bumped to 9:30 eastern Thursday Night, it could spell a ratings slip for the show. NBC's highly acclaimed show "The Office" is premiering at the exact same time, even the Apprentice was bumped to 8:30 to make room for the show. Also the SWEET 16 of the NCAA tournament on CBS starts tomorrow night and last weekend the NCAA tournament got the best ratings since 1993 which really helped CBS.
But it will be interesting to see the last 30 minutes of the Apprentice get squashed by the American Idol results show.
CheersChild4life 03-24-2005, 09:40 PM I highly doubt this show will last anyway. It just didn't looke super funny or appealing, and it's on FOX which does cut shows quickly so I dunno, maybe it's just me. I can't really say until I watch, but tongiht I'm watching the office instead.
McFly121 03-25-2005, 02:51 AM Yeah, the bad news for Life on a Stick....it sucked.
Watched about fifteen minutes, didn't laugh once, turned it off.
Miss Golden 03-25-2005, 03:23 AM The only reason this show has gotten any publicity is because of Amy Yasbeck and her desire to carry on John Ritter's memory. Just the title of this show is screaming cancellation, and changing its premiere night sure won't help matters any.
FOX has hardly nothing outside of American Idol,
Returning next fall
Simpsons
24
That 70s Show
The O.C.
House
Cops
America's Most Wanted
Bubble Shows
Bernie Mac
King of the Hill
Malcolm in the Middle
Arrested Development
American Dad
Sketch Show
theshark8777 03-25-2005, 11:45 AM Wow American Dad is a bubble show, after it aired only once.
It already bumped Arrested Development out of May sweeps, again.

Brent88 03-25-2005, 12:17 PM The Office beat Life on a Stick and it had a stronger lead-in(although surprisingly much lower than normal, but The Apprentice was also lower).
FOX moved into first for the 9 p.m. hour, driven by the 11.9/19 for "American Idol," though the premiere numbers for "Life on a Stick" (5.5/9) were disappointing. NBC was second with "The Apprentice" (7.9/12) and the 7.5/12 premiere of "The Office," which retained nearly all of its lead-in. CBS' basketball was third with a 7.6/12. ABC was well behind that top pack with two repeats of "Jake." UPN's wrestling did a 3.4/5 in its second hour, more than three times better than the totals for The WB's "Starlet" encore.
Auntie 04-07-2005, 09:13 AM I watched it last night, I have to say that I thought that it was very distasteful to show that scene with the girl giving the other girl the finger( even though they putted the scramble screen in front of it). This is prime time t.v. not HBO.( you never saw anyone on '8 Simple Rules' making those kind of gestures) Needless to say I won't be watching it again anyway, firstly, it's really not that funny, secondly, I'm really not a fan of Amy Yasbeck's,(more of a fan of her late husband) and thirdly, I'll be watching NBC's new mini series next Wednesday from 9-10pm,for the next six weeks 'Revelations' with Bill Pullman. Sorry Amy.
Raisingdad2004 04-13-2005, 06:13 AM It seemed funny, but like the new comedies airing around now, Its dry. From NBCS' "The Office" to ABC'S "Jake In Progess" they all basically weren't that good, They may have a few laugh out loud scenes, but over all, pretty dry.

Well, Miss Golden if you would know that Malcom had been renewed already and King of the Hill will be back but on a shorter run version. That show is supposed to end it's run next season. As for Arrested and Bernie Mac. I have no idea what the fate of those shows really are right now.

I'd be amazed if American Dad makes it for 2 seasons.
The only reason they gave Seth McFarland the show was because of the big time sales of Family Guy, which is at times incredibly funny.
American Dad is like a one note piece of crap from what I've seen.
Oh, and that kid from Life on a Stick was pretty funny in Super Troopers.
-Double bacon cheeseburger. It's for a cop.
-What the hell's that all about? You gonna spit in it now?
-
No, I just told him that so he makes it good.
