In fact if you wanted to, you could get an old Primestar dish for next to nothing and hook it up to an FTA receiver, and point it at the satellite that has your favorite channels. I'd check out this site: http://s6.invisionfree.com/Cband_Satellite if you have more questions. Here's a list of FTA channels: http://www.lyngsat.com/nettv/United-States.html EDIT: This is legal FTA by the way, I wouldn't endorse illegal FTA. Sorcerer 03-26-2005, 06:21 PM Don't let people Tell you that the FTA Receivers will be worthless after Dish Network goes to Nagra 2. FTA receivers where never build to access Dish network Scrambled Channels, there firmware was hacked to do that. Also it is illegal to get Dish Net scrambled Channels with a FTA Receiver or any other way. The FTA receivers where built to receiver the 100's of Channels available in that digital Format. Which is legal to do and there are allot of good Channels up On C-band and KU that are FTA. So my Point is don't listen to people who think FTA receivers are only good for ripping off Dish Network. If you can't get any Local Channels where you live FTA is the cheapest way to get them. Also there are allot of other Channels that made buying a FTA receiver worth it for me. |
