View Full Version : Larry and Jack's friendship should have ended when Larry Sold TVFactFan 03-23-2005, 08:11 PM a nude picture of Jack to the Reagle Beagle for everyone to see-lol Could anyone else have forgiven Larry for that if they were Jack? I Love John Ritter 03-23-2005, 08:24 PM I am always amazed how Jack is still friends with Larry after this episode  TVFactFan 03-23-2005, 08:33 PM I am always amazed how Jack is still friends with Larry after this episode  Yeah Larry would not have been allowed in my APT anymore-lol Heart Shaped Box 03-23-2005, 08:35 PM I definitely wouldn't have been Larry's friend for that long. But, sometimes he can be nice when he wants. That just shows how nice of a guy Jack is. brasspounder 03-23-2005, 08:41 PM I definitely wouldn't have been Larry's friend for that long. But, sometimes he can be nice when he wants. That just shows how nice of a guy Jack is. And using Jack's name when he goes on dates and gets Jack in trouble as a result?. Like the ep last night on the farm with that Wally character!! Not something you do to a friend. Heart Shaped Box 03-23-2005, 08:43 PM Yea, exactly. I would never have a friend who would do that to me. But to Jack, Larry was pretty much the only guy friend who lived close by. Number 9 Dream 03-23-2005, 09:47 PM Yeah, Jack's pretty damned understanding :D TVFactFan 03-23-2005, 11:35 PM even though Jack was my favorite character, i didn't like how passive he was when it came to everyone. Brian Damage 03-23-2005, 11:48 PM Larry was a snake to Jack alot of the times....and Jack always allowed it. brasspounder 03-24-2005, 12:13 AM Yea, exactly. I would never have a friend who would do that to me. But to Jack, Larry was pretty much the only guy friend who lived close by. You're right, during the first Terri eps Jack was telling Terri that mostly old people lived in their apartment complex. Chain Gang Member 03-24-2005, 11:36 AM I didn't like Larry that much in the 8th season. He tried to talk Jack into taking advantage of Janet & Terri, sold Jack's nude picture to the Regal Beagle and tried to take advantage of Terri. Terri:Larry, this is the lowest thing that you've ever done Larry:Not as low as when I tried to get you to Terri:Larry! Yeah Larry also talked Jack into driving Janet's Car in season 8 Mr. Television 03-24-2005, 05:05 PM Larry was a great character and Jack and Larry were a great team but if this was real life their friendship would have been broken up years ago. I Love John Ritter 03-24-2005, 05:11 PM Larry was a great character and Jack and Larry were a great team but if this was real life their friendship would have been broken up years ago. I couldn't have put it better myself  Chain Gang Member 03-25-2005, 09:49 AM Larry was a great character and Jack and Larry were a great team but if this was real life their friendship would have been broken up years ago. Ya damn right Auntie 03-25-2005, 11:10 AM Jack's friendship with Larry should've ended when Larry used Jack's name instead of his own in 'Urban Ployboy'. If that would've been me, I'd probably would've killed Larry for doing that. Even better yet, what about in 'Larry's Sister', in the scene when Larry just punches Jack for no apparent reason, that was uncalled for. He didn't even give Jack a chance to explain what happened, he just assumed that Jack was fooling around with his sister. It just goes to show you how much of a  that :jack has. I don't know what was worse, Larry giving the Nude picture of Jack to the Beagle or using Jack's name. I think Larry used Jack name more once. I think it was in that episode when the Pregnant Girl was looking for Jack Tripper I Love John Ritter 03-25-2005, 03:17 PM I don't know what was worse, Larry giving the Nude picture of Jack to the Beagle or using Jack's name. I think Larry used Jack name more once. I think it was in that episode when the Pregnant Girl was looking for Jack Tripper Yes, he also used Jack's name in "Will The Real Jack Tripper". Chain Gang Member 03-25-2005, 04:33 PM I think the reason Jack forgave Larry for selling the nude portrait was because he got the last laugh when Larry's date dumps him for Jack stella 03-25-2005, 07:20 PM I think the reason Jack forgave Larry for selling the nude portrait was because he got the last laugh when Larry's date dumps him for Jack Yeah, Jack got some redemption on Larry by walking off with his date. And earlier on in the episode when Larry offered Jack $10 for "his share" of the price of the painting, Jack did grudgingly accept the money by grabbing the bill before chewing Larry off. I'd say the only time the friendship was really threatened was in the episode "Larry's Sister". Jack made it very clear that he wouldn't see Larry until he was ready to apologize. Chain Gang Member 03-29-2005, 08:12 PM Eventhough Larry was sort of a jerk, you gotta admit that he sometimes show sides of him that we never really thought were there. When Larry fell for Janet,he dressed like a gentleman and had corsage(which really creeped me out). Also he was shy about asking Terri out, showed that he was sad when he heard the trio were moving into a different apartment, consoled Terri when she was sad from finding out that Jack & Janet went out on a date, brought his family into Jack's restaurant to save Jack's business(eventhough he caused the problem) and told Jack that Janet wouldn't go out with a married man.So there are some good points in Larry too stella 11-15-2005, 05:20 PM Yes, there were many instances that Larry did things to threaten his friendship with Jack, as some of you already mentioned. But let's not forget that Larry also came to Jack's aid a few times. In "Jack Goes the Distance", it was Jack who nervously came to Larry about his upcoming fight with Biff, and Larry agreed to train him. But I'd say above all, Larry was very helpful in "Opening Night". Larry was responsible for the advertising error, but he more than made up for it by bringing in his large family for dinner that night. His large family used up all the food and even paid for the dishes they broke. Without Larry's help that night, Jack would have been unable to pay the restaurant rent and would have been forced to give it up and really threaten his career. Number 9 Dream 11-15-2005, 07:42 PM Larry is one of those friends that's always around until there's a crisis :D |
