During the intro of every show I wait and wonder " Will Robert be sure to mention that this particular episode is 'intriguing'"?
Intriguing - he says it 90% of the time.

View Full Version : Robert Stack's Favorite Word pjpiazza 03-23-2005, 07:38 PM During the intro of every show I wait and wonder " Will Robert be sure to mention that this particular episode is 'intriguing'"? Intriguing - he says it 90% of the time. shock80 03-23-2005, 09:31 PM I guess its better than disturbing TripperFan 03-23-2005, 09:33 PM I think he must have had both written on his headstone!!! Here disturbingly lies Robert Stack His death was intriguing. -TRANCE- 03-24-2005, 10:42 AM Perhaps that someone is watching, Perhaps....It's you. U.M. Fanatic 03-24-2005, 06:44 PM Perhaps that someone is watching, Perhaps....It's you. This is my pick for favorite Robert Stack line. rerungirl 03-24-2005, 07:34 PM It seems like he used inexplicable in about 90% of the cases too. Mr. Fuji 03-24-2005, 09:06 PM I gotta go with, "Incredibly..." Listen for this word. He says it at least once a segment. DF Justin 03-25-2005, 06:31 AM i agree with mr. fuji Todd Mueller 03-26-2005, 12:45 AM My favorite Robert Stack line, without a doubt, is: "Perhaps someone from _____________'s (insert name here) past decided to make a violent reappearance." What exactly is a "violent reappearance"? Whatever it is, it was something he often used on missing person cases. My second favorite was when they were talking about the kid who disappeared after going to the county carnival. Robert Stack said, "Perhaps he succombed to the lure of the carnival." That one about put me on the floor. Maybe it's just me, but what in the hell is so "alluring" about a carnival? The low wages? The lack of teeth? Poor sanitation? Horrible smells? Never knowing where you are going to be the next day? compulsive dvd 03-26-2005, 04:26 AM I always liked when he called something a "cruel hoax" dandelion wine 03-26-2005, 04:36 AM "Intriguing" and "Perhaps" are my votes for his favorite. Great thread, by the way. temptation1979ga 03-26-2005, 10:37 PM My fav. two words used on UM, even though they might not have been the most frequent (I know Stack must've enjoyed saying these deep down somewhere: 1. poopooed 2. de-goo  PrettyinPink55 03-27-2005, 01:20 AM Perhaps that someone is watching, Perhaps....It's you. That has got to be my favorite line! It always creeped me out when I was younger! CrushedVelvet 04-01-2005, 01:16 AM "perplexing"... Awsi Dooger 04-01-2005, 08:10 AM I'm convinced he snuck in that line at least once, perhaps backwards or with a few words in between. Beetlejuice69 04-04-2005, 12:17 PM That has got to be my favorite line! It always creeped me out when I was younger! That, and "Update!" http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/BigTMan/bono_africa_baby.jpg themaninblack 04-10-2005, 02:15 PM "if you...have any information regarding this case..write to..." themaninblack 04-10-2005, 02:17 PM A BRUTAL MURDER... Bluejay 04-26-2005, 04:26 AM That's what I hear his voice saying when I think about Unsolved. And the tagline. Which is why it's mine. Where did he say "de-goo"? I think I've heard "pooh-pooh" at least once. Todd Mueller 04-26-2005, 09:45 PM He said "cheesy" once or twice. Also, has anyone else noticed he says the name "Michelle" weird? He always says, "Mee-shell" instead of "mi-shell" like normal people. We love 'ya Bob. And we miss you! :( nohwheregirl 05-06-2005, 03:30 AM Bob said "galavanting" today in regards to the Christopher Chichester case. Awesome. That's totally a word my mom would use. I also liked it when he said "de-goo." crystaldawn 05-16-2005, 11:03 AM In the recent story about the guy who died while sleepwalking RS actually said "phantasmagoric". Mystery-Lover 05-22-2005, 02:51 PM He says "intriguing" and "perplexed" a lot. Kemistry 05-22-2005, 02:57 PM I noticed that on alot of the Lost Loves and even the Amelia Earheart segments he says the word poignant. pjpiazza 05-25-2005, 06:21 PM I agree. If only he'd say "Perhaps you could join me for another intriguing episode of UM". Then we'd all be happy. U.M. Fanatic 05-25-2005, 07:17 PM In the recent story about the guy who died while sleepwalking RS actually said "phantasmagoric". That's a good one! PrettyinPink55 05-26-2005, 12:07 AM he also likes to use baffling a lot. wiseguy182 12-13-2010, 01:21 AM I noticed he liked to say "cloaked" alot, that something was "cloaked in mystery". And of course my favorite "swept up in a vortex..." sdb4884 12-13-2010, 02:10 AM police TheCars1986 12-13-2010, 11:35 AM I don't know about Stack's favorite word, but mine was when he would unexpectedly say, "UPDATE!" at the end of a segment. Apostapler 12-13-2010, 01:59 PM A'tall. As in "There was no explanation a'tall." bluejazz87 12-14-2010, 02:26 AM I gotta go with, "Incredibly..." Listen for this word. He says it at least once a segment. I think we have a winner. I can hear Robert Stack saying this in my mind. NemechekFan87 12-22-2010, 08:15 PM I think we have a winner. I can hear Robert Stack saying this in my mind. Me too! Bluejay 02-07-2016, 09:53 PM I wish they hadn't redubbed everything with the new guy. |
