To me, a "yankee" is someone who doesn't know New York too well, but they try to act like they do. ;) They are usually new to New York, or just like New York a lot. They speak with phony Brooklyn accents or other popular New York cities/suburbs. ;) I know it's weird I call them Yankees because the New York baseball team is the Yankees, but...... :) ;) They talk about New York about 24/7 and think New York is one of the best places ever. When they think of the Subways, they think "That's New York for You!" ;)

luckily was born and bred in NY so I'm a NYorker for life. No fake Yankee here............. :rock:
