This is a good chance to get information from Warner Home Video on future TV DVD releases they might even get some ideas for what we want. this is a 3-hour chat.

Not sure if we can promote events of other forums, but if anyone plans on taking part in this chat and is lucky enough to ask a question, here's a list of Warner Bros. shows, courtesy of Pavan. I was there at last year's chat for the entire three plus hours and didn't get a chance to ask a question, so if you get picked, you're definitely fortunate. Make it a good question. I think they came prepared to talk about vault shows if the questions came up. The problem is they simply didn't plan on releasing any of those vault shows in season sets, they're probably content on releasing shows (like Shazam, for example) as a single episode on a bonus disc for their 50th anniversary celebration. There was a rep from the tv division there who most likely knew exactly what Warner does and doesn't have planned for release

Crap, I forgot all about the WB chat! :( Luckily, the two shows I was gonna ask about were addressed; Growing Pains and The Drew Carey Show. Its nice to hear that they're both being considered for DVD. Its a bummer, tho, that there are no plans for Just the Ten of Us, Step by Step or The Hogan Family...

But the reason for Family Guy's low ratings was because FOX moved it all around the schedule.

7-8 million a week is huge for a channel like Comedy Central because it's not a channel like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, WB, or UPN (which mostly/probably everybody in America is able to recieve because they're regular channels and not a cable channel like CC is.)

however, I am with you, I think Mama's Family is long overdue on DVD.

I do think the NBC episodes should be packaged as one set with seasons 1 and 2, and then the syndicated years would be released as individual season sets.

Season 8 was the debut of Nicollette Sheridan, and they just want to keep milking the Desperate Housewives crap!

The sooner Warner releases KL on DVD, the better, IMO.

The best tv news for me was that they're "looking into" releasing Welcome Back Kotter. Aside from that, the best news for me is that they're finally releasing the two-disc Outsiders dvd that they were supposed to release during its 20th anniversary two years ago, and a new Wizard of Oz dvd. I've held off on buying a Wizard dvd all this time, so I'm glad I waited for a good, new version to come out.

So let's try to understand this, Alice, a popular long running sitcom, and Mama's Family, a popular sitcom with excellent standings at TV shows on dvd.com have no current releases planned, nor does Murphy Brown:Season 2, but they are working on a release for the George Lopez show? Does this seem very, very wrong to anyone else?

well, would you guys rather have late Knots Landing episodes, or no KL at all? Be thankful that DH is so popular because considering Nicollette's comeback thanks to that show, it's pretty much safe to say KL will be staying on Soapnet for quite a while, much like how Warner had no plans to release Lois And Clark on DVD anytime soon, but thanks to Teri Hatcher's popularity on DH, Warner is quickly putting out a season 1.

WB owns My Fav Martian, but let Rhino release it? Odd, but not unwelcome. WB probably wouldn't have taken the time to find a copy of the pilot uncut.

Interesting that they're looking into Knots Landing and Falcon Crest, two shows that, if I had the money, I'd buy in an instant.

And Flamingo Road would have been very cheap, considering there would be hardly any extras, the first season's only 15 episodes long (plus the pilot movie), and the second season is only 22 episodes long. The first season set would cost, at most, $25?

But then again I just realized that Knots and Falcon only had 13 and 18 episodes in their first seasons, respectively, so maybe I can afford these, if they ever come out....

Chico and The Man shouldn't have been a surprise. It was among the 30 or so shows listed as being part of the WB tv-dvd rebate where you get up to $50 back by buying any six sets on that list.

I WANT MAMA'S FAMILY, HOMEFRONT, KNOTS LANDING, MORE DALLAS, ALICE RELEASED. OF ALL THE STUDIOS ONLY UNIVERSIAL SEEMS TO BE MEETING THE DEMANDS OF IT"S CUSTOMERS. PARAMONT IS STILL TO SLOW AND WB IS EVEM SLOWER :mad:
