The FBI and tribal officials in northern Minnesota are investigating a shooting at high school on the Red Lake Reservation.

A tribal official tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that up to six people may be dead. The shooting took place about 3:00 this afternoon at the Minnesota Ojibwe High school. There are also reports of several injuries.

The FBI says several people have been shot, and some killed. The FBI didn't say how many people had been killed or wounded, and didn't release any other details.

Beltrami County chief deputy Tom Lyons told the Star Tribune that as many as 14 people were injured.

I'm so glad I'm out of school. When I was in HS we didn't have to worry about things like this.

Per MSNBC:

Student shot and killed (at least) 2 adults and 4 students, then killed himself.

ohno:

Yeah... I remember hearing about a week after Columbine that at my later-high school(was in elementary still at the time) that at the exact moment the shootings started in Colorado, a boy stood up in class and went "boom" and then sat down.

Suspect killed his grandparents then killed a teacher, security guard, and 4 students before killing himself.

I like it when these waste of space *******s shoot themselves. Then we don't have to waste time giving them a trial and crap. Too bad he didn't just off himself first.

I was really shocked by that.Since Columbine,I didn't think that would happen again,or I hoped it wouldn't.I was moreso shocked that it happened in Minnesota.I've always dreamed of living there.

Minnesota is a great place, take it from someone who lived there for 18 years..and it still is hard to believe. Talk about a bad seed.

The problem with that is that by killing himself, he denied the victim's and their families justice. If one of my kids was killed by a school shooter who then kills himself, I'd be pretty pissed off because I would never get any complete closure. This kid was not only a lowlife but a coward. I hope he rots and burns in Hell.

While it would have been nice that he got the justice he deserved, it would have ended in a sloppy gunfight had he not killed himself. Policemen, and other people could have gotten shot or killed.

I'll take your word for it.Its very hard to believe because I've only heard great things about MN,to think something like this happened there,is quite a shock to the system.
