My wife and I love this show, but the cold hard reality is that this forum preaches to the choir and no matter how many postcards or letters we send, the fact remains that the show is not picking up any new viewership in either its old timeslot or the new one. We got the reprieve last year but with NBC's overall ratings plumeting it's going to come down to an emotionless business decision.

Now, if by some chance 3-4 million new viewers tune in, that's a different story but the hard fact here is that all the postcards are keeping an NBC intern busy at a shredding machine. Hopefully NBC recycles.

I tend to agree.... I really think NBC WANTS "American Dreams" to do well and WANTS to renew it but there's gonna come a time where they just can't keep giving it passes because it's critically acclaimed and the boss likes it. They tried Wednesdays and it just hasn't worked out... and while I still believe Fridays are an option, it remains to be seen what NBC will think, although I don't think we can be mad at them if they cancel it even though it is such an amazing show.

I will not be mad even though I don't want it cancelled.I have had many shows cancelled on me the two most recent cancelled on me were Dead Like Me and North Shore. It's shocking at first but you can't put yourself into a deep depression if any show is cancelled.Plus I think NBC is doing all they can to keep this show around a bit longer. It's really not them it's the viewers they get into something different but you really can't be mad at them because their interest changed in a year. Some networks think putting shows on long Hitatuses will help it.

But trutfully it hurts it.You put a show on hiatus for a month people will watch something else to hold off until their show returns but if they like something better they won't go back the majority of times.I think long hiatuses are a bad thing but I understand all the sweeps stuff that goes on for the shows..Mel
