Wow! Down here the lowest is about $1.95. I don't think we've reached $2.00 yet though.

I WISH!!!

Up here in Canada for the last week its been an average of 85 cents a liter (regular - 95 cents for premium) - which converts to $3.22 a U.S. gallon!!!

BRUTAL! These guys are worse than organized crime and get away with it.

i dont think it converts to QUITE that high (not that it isn't ridiculous though)

0.85 cdn = 0.71 usd http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/exchform.htm

multiply by 3.7854 to convert liters to gallons = $2.69

K - you're right - forgot the exchange. Although most wages aren't entirely compensated up here to their U.S. counterparts. (i.e. - sounds like we may earn more for the same job description within the same company, but it's not quite up to par). Plus you should see the additional income taxes we're getting laced with. Our standard of living is going right in the dumper.

Too bad I'm not in the far north - I'd be back to using sleddogs!!

$1.93 here for unleaded ethanol, $1.99 unleaded, $2-something for premium.

Glad I don't have a fancy premium only car.

And I heard on the news today that they're warning us not to look for any breaks on gas prices for the next three years!!! Beautiful!!

As if our wages will keep up the same. This is bringing back memories of how the "gas shortage" started in the mid-seventies.

I can see that happening. I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about lowering the speed limit.

Where exactly ARE you Modfather??? I'm just north of Toronto in Caledon, but we were in downtown T.O. on Saturday and it was running anywhere from 84.9 to 87.9 at most places. Same with Mississauga (there on Sunday).

I know sometimes Canadian Tire run "day only" major discounts.

Even in Orangeville its been around 86.9.

Wow - just shows the price difference even within the local area. Just craziness!

(I've noticed the same thing with grocery pricing too - same chain will have different prices in Orangeville and Brampton).
