This week I celebrated a birthday, and getting older hits me hard.... but my 16 year old daughter came to the rescue, musically!

I grew up in the 70's (Jr Hi and HS) and I listened to a lot of hard rock back in the day. One of my favorite artists of the time was Alice Cooper. I remember sitting in my living room on several Halloween nights with the lights out watching his "Welcome to my Nightmare" video and with the sound turned down on the TV set and my ear phones on and tuned into the simulcast broadcast on a local FM station, I would crank the sound way up! For me, it didn't get any better than that...

Well my daughter bought me the DVD remaster of his live show from England. The quality might be lacking, compared to MTV and VH1 and the like, but for the time, it was ground breaking. We sat down that night and watched it together, and for a while I was 17 again. The cool part about it, she really enjoyed it as well. And this is from someone raised on much higher quality music videos. I know Alice Cooper wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but he did pave the way for many people who put the "spectacle" in Rock and Roll. It was a blast!
