View Full Version : Jane Leeves on Benny Hill
~*Emma*~ 03-18-2005, 06:34 AM I know Jane Leeves used to be on Benny Hill as one of the dancers or something in the later seasons. Has anyone ever seen her though? I would like to know because whenever me and my mum flick through the channels and Benny Hill is on UKTV she yells, "LOOK FOR JANE LEEVES!" or she says "LOOK FOR DAPHNE!" or something along those lines :p (Frasier is her favourite show and she loves Daphne and Niles and so do I) But I would like to here from someone whos seen her bacause we can never seem to find her.
(also, isn't Benny Hill Jane Leeves uncle or something?)

I know that Jane Leeves was in the later episodes, like in the 1980's. Benny Hill is not Jane Leeves uncle, lol.
Niles and Daphne are totally awesome! :D
snl75 03-23-2005, 02:43 AM i may have seen her on the show i used to watch benny hill all the time as a kid
ugotitdude 03-28-2005, 04:47 PM I remember a scene she did on Benny Hill where she plays a maid and Benny hides the pot holders from her while she's serving dinner so that he can see what's under her uniform. I have that on one of my tapes of his show.

LOL - I want to see her episodes. Aren't there reruns on Trio or BBC America?
Brian Damage 04-03-2005, 03:25 PM I wish Benny Hill was airing somewhere here in the states. It was a great sketch comedy.
TripperFan 04-03-2005, 03:27 PM It is airing in the States - I have it on right now (3:30 EST) on BBC America.
I'll keep my eyes open for Jane since it looks like they're showing the later episodes.
P.S. - Another great sketch comedy show is the new one Kelsy Grammer has out. Brings back memories of Laugh In and Benny Hill!
It'd be great fun if you could get some screen captures of her on the show.
stratman 05-26-2005, 01:18 AM You're in luck, because there are.

Brian Damage 05-27-2005, 11:09 AM cool
Thanks Stratman. I have a lot of trouble getting on the site. Here's some I found.
stratman 06-01-2005, 12:13 AM Is that Jane's rear-end?
Judging by the outfit in the next pic, I'm guessing so. ;)
stratman 06-02-2005, 12:33 AM I, of course, am not complaining.
In terms of chronology, Ms. Leeves appeared in the 1983 series of TBHS, with some leftovers from the taping of those shows also used in 1984 and 1985 episodes.
stratman 06-27-2005, 12:20 AM I thought that was the case. I've recently seen all of her appearances. She was in a number of 1984 episodes and one 1985 episode.

One thing: There were only two original shows aired in 1984, and three in 1985. (Those two series also used heretofore unseen archive footage with Jackie Wright in it to cover for the fact that he was no longer in any shape to come to England to do the show.)
stratman 06-30-2005, 10:01 PM I have a question. You referred to Jane as Ms Leeves. Is that because she kept her last name?
I have a question. You referred to Jane as Ms Leeves. Is that because she kept her last name?
In the first part of an answer to your query, that would be the case. Second part: I have long been an adherent to referring to people by the way The New York Times makes repeated references to individuals.
stratman 07-01-2005, 03:50 AM Right.
Moondance 07-09-2005, 12:44 PM I have a question. You referred to Jane as Ms Leeves. Is that because she kept her last name?
A lot of actresses keep their last names in the public eye but at home they are Mrs. husband...legally, Jane is Mrs. Coben.
stratman 07-10-2005, 10:50 AM Remember when Courtney Cox added Arquette to her name. They made a big song and dance about that.
Benny-Hill-Complete-Unadulterated-The Hill's Angels Years, Set Five (1982-1985) is out and has all the Jane Leeves captures posted here and some very nice "Hill's Angels" routines in there as well.
Scoobiedoo30 12-13-2006, 11:45 AM I did not know that ames Leeves on Benny Hill
