I have not once ounce of Irish blood in me. It's crazy, because so many people are. I don't think I know anyone that ISN'T at least somewhat Irish. Whatever, Italians are cooler.

I'm not Irish, I'm Italian. And today I had to write a St. Patrick's Day poem, and it sucked because I don't know anything about this day, so my poem probably doesn't make any sense. They should seriously have an Italian day celebrating the invention of pizza or something.

yeah. the reason irish people probably get their own holiday is because the most common ethnic background in the american population is irish.

I'm something like 1/8th Irish from my mother's side. Not really Irish at all. My mother wanted to celebrate the day though, so I went out to supper with her and her friend.

Actually, the pizza wasn't originally invented by Italians. They just modernized it.

The common belief is that Italians invented the pizza, however the origins go back to the ancient times. Babylonians, Israelites, Egyptians and other ancient Middle Eastern cultures were eating flat, un-leaven bread that had been cooked in mud ovens. Further it is known that ancient Mediterranean people such as the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians were eating the bread, topped seasoned with olive oil and native spices.
