Brent88 03-17-2005, 11:06 AM I forgot to watch it. :cuss: Last night was the first time in awhile where every timeslot had something on the broadcast networks I wanted to watch.
GARFIELDKOOL 03-17-2005, 11:40 AM The TvLand awards are kind of lame, but I did like the part where they recognized Aaron Spelling and Don Cornelius. I loved the funky layout they had. They had the breakdancers dancing to Give up the funk and Jungle Boogie. Also, Stevie Wonder had everybody rockin' the house.
MikeLutton 03-17-2005, 12:09 PM i know and who cares about desprete housewives it has nothing to do with Tv land and the soul train music awards i could care less about i wanted to see some classic tv starts get noticed and awards.or least tributes like to late Isabel sanford n others.cant believe i watched that for 3 hours and no A Team r Knight Rider i call that false advertising.just my opinoin.

barwars 03-17-2005, 03:48 PM Desperate Housewives has everything to do with TVLand.... it's The Future Classic.
All in all, good show.
Although Cedric The Entertainer was terrible.
gilligan fanatic 03-17-2005, 04:00 PM I like they did the thing for Charles Lanes 100th birthday. My question is where was Dick Van Dyke and Bob Denver.
Coffeecup 03-18-2005, 10:28 PM I only taped 1 1/2 half hours. Tv guide say it went 1 1/2 hours. I found it went longer so I didn't see all. What I did see was a good 15 minutes dedicated to Soul Train, a good 10 minutes to another portion I didn't like. I did like Alan Young and Mr Ed and seeing Charles Lane. I tend to think it hard to do a award show where 2/3th of the nominees have passed away.
The film clips of Aaron Spelling shows were good. Some of his old shows I have never seen. I plan to see it again for I saw parts of Desperate Houswife when I somehow bumped into the show later on.
marvin g 03-19-2005, 08:43 PM This was my first time watching this show and I thought it was nice liight entertainment. I was totally shocked that Charles Lane was still living!!! You can't watch an old t.v show without seeing him in it. It was practically a semi-regular on Bewitched.
Madness 03-23-2005, 07:44 PM It really was a letdown. From Cedric to the extremely long Soul Train tribute--a good tribute but it just dragged. And it's obvious who is set to win because it seemed like almost everyone who was there and was nominated wound up winning.
And to make it worse, how many times can they replay this show? And it's usually when a show I wanna watch is on. The other night, Cheers' 12am/12:30am showing was off. Now today the 3pm Highway to Heaven showing was pre-empted because of this. If it actually was a good show, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it.
The good that did come out of it though was seeing Alan Young(Wilbur Post)again. And the tributes for Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett and seeing the greats like Joyce DeWitt and Don Knotts in the DH spoof. But with so much hype it could've been a lot better.
Penny Lane 03-23-2005, 08:58 PM Overall it was ok but I think that they need more catagories. The first show in 2003 was great! They should stick to catagory awards.(best actor, actress etc.) A new list of actors every year. I do like the tributes that they do. Imagine! Charles Lane is 100 years old and still alive! That was a great moment wasn't it? He and other character actors are probably more well known than most of the "stars" don't you think?
Someone mentioned where was Dick Van Dyke? Well I think it was the first awards show(or was it the second one?) in which they paid tribute to The Dick Van Dyke Show. So he certainly hadn't been overlooked!
I hope they do better next year! :D
treky 03-24-2005, 02:24 AM I give it a D+. Cedric the Entertainer was HORRIBLE as the host (and that "Honeymooners" movie looks stupid!), the tribute to "Soul Train" went on WAAAAY too long, and they didn't even "MASH", "Star Trek", "Quantum Leap" among others. And why did they mention "Desperate Housewives"? That show sucks!
But, it was nice to see tributes to Charles Lane and Alan Young. I was surprised to see that Charles Young is still around! And 100 years old! That's amazing!
Viviana 03-24-2005, 02:44 AM I loved the Desperate Classic Housewives thing that they showed. :D
TheHappyBurgerMeister 03-25-2005, 12:46 AM I loved the Desperate Classic Housewives thing that they showed. :D
I agree- that was funny! Even though I have never watched DH and don't have a desire to, but that skit/spoof was funny!
As for the rest of the show it was very boring and not good at all!
It will never be the same as the original 2003 TV Land awards with John Ritter as the host! RIP John. :(
treky 03-25-2005, 01:30 AM I agree! The 2003 show was GREAT!!! :talk: Same they can't get John Ritter back.
