Mary-Kate's Family Says: "She's Not Eating Again!"
Mary-Kate Olsen's family is worried that she's headed for a full-blown relapse, just eight months after leaving Utah treatment facility for an eating disorder. "She's under 95 punds," one concerned family member confided to a friend. "She's not eating again."
Friends believe Mary-Kate recent weight loss is due to her rebellion against her eating coach, Lori Cerasoli, to whom the Olsen family has been paying thousands of dollars a week since August to ensure that their daughter eats. But the constant probing by Cerasoli has reportedly driven the 18-year-old NYU freshman to the breaking point.
MK can't stand being followed and looked at and asked every minute what she's eating," says a friend, who adds that the actress has resorted to distracting the eating coach so she can hide food in her pockets.
"She's rebelling -- wouldn't you?" says the insider. "When Lori calls after lunch to see what she's eaten, MK hang's up the phone. She doesn't eat just to spite her."
Unfortunately, that rebellion may be costing Mary-Kate her health. "She is so thin, her legs look like they could give out," adds the friend.
One expert isn't surprised that the teenage star has rebelled. LA addiction specialist Dr. James Wood, who does not treat Mary-Kate, believes she should back in full-time treatment facility -- for at least six months. "Having the eating coach perpetuates the idea that she's rich and special because she can afford this bizarre treatment," he says.
Although the Olsens' rep says there are no plans for Mary-Kate to return to a full-time treatment center, her family has been considering other options.
For MK who knows she's fighting a lifelong battle, a new plan to help conquer her eating difficulties probably won't come a moment too soon.
