So Beaver stopped wearing his Eskimo sweater because Judy Hensler was wearing one and Beaver thought it was a girl's sweater. I didn't think there was anything feminine about that sweater, did you? The sweater was gender neutral. Either sex could wear it. (I wouldn't - I thought it was ugly.) I couldn't stop laughing when June told Ward the theater manager found the sweater stuffed behind the candy machine.

I'e often wondered why the boys automatically assumed it was a girl's sweater. It could be that Judy had bought a boy's sweater. Larry and Beaver should have gone up to Judy and asked her why she was wearing a BOY'S sweater and turned the situation around so she would be the uncomfortable one instead of Beaver.

I agree. I was thinking the same thing while I watched the episode. Larry must have thought it was a boy's sweater too because he said his dad was going to buy him one.
I think the episode dates from 1959. Wasn't that the year Alaska became a state? What a way for LITB to celebrate Alaska's admission to the union - with a story about an ugly Eskimo sweater.

This was also one of the few episodes where Ward calls Beaver by his real name, Theodore.

So when do you think those ugly Eskimo sweaters will turn up for auction on ebay?
