Who's Nirvana?

Captain ABlairica, Nirvana was a rock group from the early 1990s with the "grunge" sound, based out of Seattle. The group's hits include "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Lithium", and "Come As You Are." The lineup included Krist Novoselic, Kurt Cobain (IIRC he was the only native Washingtonian; unfortunately he is no longer with us), and Dave Grohl.

I remember the day back in 1991 at work me and a friend were listening intently to the when it was announced that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was about to be played--we just FROZE there waiting to hear it! It was a wild time to be alive, when your town was becoming the most happening place in the world in music!!

I'll give everyone a quarter who can tell who possibly the FIRST grunge band was, actually there were perhaps two. Nirvana wasn't the first, but boy they were the BIGGEST.

Two hints:

"This Town"

"Touch Me, I'm Sick"

Also in my location below my avatar, I post the year I am going through my rock and roll history thread, I'm currently going through the year 1992, a big year for grunge.

Nirvana is one of the best bands of all time. They're a freaking legacy, for Christ's sake... I love them with a passion.

I liked Nirvana. Heart-shaped box was probably my favorite song of theirs, although most of them I heard were pretty good! And I wasn't even that into grunge.
