Caught this special on THC last night. Anyone else? Both interesting & disturbing at the same time. I had no idea the practice (in verious forms) was at some point or another done worldwide.

But after hearing the stories of it being done for survival, it made me wonder- Would *I* do it? I mean, Jesus. Even under The Most *Extreme* circumstances, I'd doubt it. I think ultimately, I'd pass & TRY to survive via plants & animals...or die trying.

I do think that with our current knowledge of contageous diseases, most modern westerners like us, would definitely think twice. I mean, HIV & whatnot....

Yeah...count me out. Too risky & disturbing...

I watched most of it. The stories of the shipwrecked boats and their starving crews was interesting....how that one guy went deaf and insane thinking he was going to do the next morning.

Who knows what we would do. Survival is our first instinct. I'd sure hate to be put in a position to have to make that sort of decision.

That's interesting in a macabre way. It's amazing what the human spirit will do to survive, even taking out his/her fellow human for food. Personally, I find it repulsive(as I'm sure most of you do  ) but still interesting to read about nonetheless.

I agree with the poster earlier who said they'd rather eat plants or animals....give me weeds and vegetation over humans anyday!
