View Full Version : Normally I would be surprised that Full House is one of the top selling DVD's on
TVFactFan 03-14-2005, 06:54 PM amazon.com but since the show is on N@N twice a night and on ABC Family, i think we know why the show is doing very well in DVD Sales. I expect the same to happen for Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, another N@N show.
Full House is #8 of the Top 10 selling tv shows on DVD on amazon.com
Brian Damage 03-15-2005, 12:49 PM Kids really like this show. My 6 year old loves it, so we bought her the dvd.
spunkygirl 03-15-2005, 06:03 PM It's always been a popular show and always will be, so it didn't surprise me all that much. Plus it's a family show which helps too :)

Yeah I guess kids would be drawn to FH. If you look up the Definition of a FAMILY SITCOM, the cast of FH would be right next to it-lol
Dean Winchester 03-16-2005, 02:00 PM I dunno what it was, but while I liked Full House when I was 10, 15 years later I cannot stomach the show yet I can enjoy "adult" shows from the era like Roseanne and Seinfeld, but while I can't stand FH, I still can enjoy The Cosby Show, which was definately a "family program" as well.

Its probably because of the Olsen Twins.

Yep. It was HORRENDOUSLY corny, there's no ifs or buts about that, that's for sure. I agree...for me, as soon as the Olsen twins got older, Jesse married Becky and they had twins, that was when it started going downhill. The last two-three seasons really sucked. And OMG...Michelle and her stupid friends. :wallbang I wanted to kick them all really hard, they were annoying as hell too.
gilligan fanatic 03-16-2005, 04:33 PM I can't stand Full House

You probably can watch the Cosby Show as an adut because it doesn't have as many little kid characters as Full House.

I remember one show that Jesse and his friends wanted to watch the Super Bowl and Michelle and her friends wouldn't let him because he promised to do something with them. They were annoying.

Oh yeah, I remember that too.
Steph had some REALLY obnoxious friends...Gia and the two Jennifers (one of them was played by Danielle Fisher). I wanted to slap them all really hard. I thought DJ's boyfriend was annoying too. Basically, everybody in the last 2-3 seasons were really annoying. Yet, you can't help but watch.

I watched it religiously on TBS about 5-6 years ago(when I was 10 or 11), and now I can't stand it, and I've tried multiple times to get into it since it started on N@N and ABC Family.
barwars 03-16-2005, 08:52 PM Full House is definitely the worst popular sitcom of all time.
Sure, there are worse series, but how something like FH got so big -- is beyond me.
But still, despite the annoying characters, sappy music, and the overall complete corniness of the series.... I still like it. Don't want to, but I do.

I also think Bob Saget's popularity on America's Funniest Home Videos boosted the show, the ratings for the show started getting higher than the 30's and 40's when he took that stint. FH didn't become a top 10 hit until it moved to Tuesday nights, and it was actually the lowest rated show on ABC that night, which was run with Home Improvement, Roseanne and Coach that season.
TVQuack 03-16-2005, 10:27 PM I grew up on this show and still enjoy how corny it can be, I don't feel like it is a bad sitcom at all.
Flying Dutchman 05-08-2005, 10:20 AM Oh Yes I mean who would want to miss the cute olsen twins
G-Force Glockstar 05-15-2005, 03:38 PM Full House is getting more and more popular.
I use to be in love with that show for years, but last year I started growing out of that show sience I was told I was too old to watch it and I started liking other shows....

LOL...true. The first, oh 4 seasons I guess, were pretty good. They weren't all sappy and focused just on the kids. There was actually a sophistication about it. Then Jesse and Becky got married, Michelle learned to talk in complete sentences, those annoyingly incoherent twins were born, someone decided that the kids really needed friends, the plots got totally ridiculous (Jesse and Joey become DJs???)...and well, yeah. But I still like it. Go figure. :)
Plus, John Stamos was smoking hot in those first few years (post Mullet I might add), so I'm sure a lot of girls tuned in for that alone.

I watched FH in its original run and I can remember watching FH when John had his mullet. Can you say - SMOKING HOT! I always tell people that John was one of a few people that could pull off the mullet look and get away with it. :biglove:
