I have had livejournal since the middle of January, and I've been trying to figure out how the navigation bar works? I have the generator layout, and I want to know how to have the navigation bar list the entries per page? Some examples i've seen on the naviigation bar are go earliest, go back 20 entries or later entries. How do I get mine like that? I've tried to get assistance from the livejournal website and other sites on it, but its so confusing! Any help would be appreciated! :)

Ohhhhhhh!!!!! me!!!!! *waves hand*

I'm using the same style and I set mine so it displays 10 entries/page.

LASTN_OPT_ITEMS=>10

This doesn't have to be under GLOBAL_HEAD<=.

Change the "10" to any number you want. Changing it to "1" will make it so it displays only 1 entry/page, and so on. :)

It's not working for me. I went to the overrides box on the modify journal page and pasted what you had written,and it didn't work.

:confused:

Hm...

I did mine so it looked like this:

FRIENDS_TALK_LINKS<=
<tr>
<td align="right" colspan="2" width="100%" bgcolor="%%color:weak_back%%" class="comments">
%%readlink%%<a href="%%urlpost%%">Leave a comment</a>
</td>
</tr>
<=FRIENDS_TALK_LINKS

FRIENDS_TALK_READLINK=><a href="%%urlread%%"><b>%%messagecount%% comment%%mc-plural-s%%</b></a> <font color=black>|</color>

LASTN_TALK_READLINK=><a href="%%urlread%%"><b>%%messagecount%% comment%%mc-plural-s%%</b></a> <font color=black>|</color>

LASTN_TALK_LINKS<=
<tr>
<td align="right" colspan="2" width="100%" size="10" bgcolor="%%color:weak_back%%" class="comments">
%%readlink%%<a href="%%urlpost%%">Leave a comment</a>
</td>
</tr>
<=LASTN_TALK_LINKS

LASTN_OPT_ITEMS=>10

GLOBAL_HEAD<=
<style type="text/css">
<!--

The stuff in FRIENDS_TALK_LINKS and FRIENDS_TALK_LINKS will allow you to modify the "comments" links you see when viewing your friends page on your LJ.

LASTN_TALK_READLINK and LASTN_TALK_LINKS will modify the comments link in YOUR part of the journal.

As mentioned before, LASTN_OPT_ITEMS is the number of entries that can be displayed. The location of the above codes made the entry thing work for me. :)

I agree, it's really confusing...but keep trying, you will get it to work eventually. That's why I don't change my layout too often...too much of a hassle with the codes. :crazy:

I have no idea. I have a paid account, so I used the S2 system to make my own style. It's wicked easy once you get the hang of it.

Here's the part where I show off my pretty joornal.

Ohhh, yay! :D

Hm, that's a good question. I think if you follow the FRIENDS/LASTN pattern that's going on here, it would be

FRIENDS_OPT_ITEMS=>

It's just a guess though...I don't have that set on my friends page. Also, I think it would go under LASTN_OPT_ITEMS.

Good luck! :D

www.livejournal.com/users/misskarlyOhhh, the pretty colors, hehe. Add me! Add me! I'm "quencherita" (of course LOL).

And I pay for a journal, too... just not on LJ. LJ takes a long time for me to load for some reason. :confused:
