View Full Version : Please Pray for my Mom...
Lady T 03-10-2005, 02:44 PM People who know me on this board, also know that my mom has not been in the greatest of health due to having diabetes and a mild stroke back in 2002, well at the moment she is not doing very well and her blood sugar is at 390..which can cause her to have another stroke; she has been taking excellent care of her diet by eating right and exercising but still her blood sugar is dangerously high..
She is the best mom around..caring and loving and just a wonderful human being in general and I love her to death.. :(
Janice 03-10-2005, 02:55 PM I'll pray for your mother. My husband is a diabetic too. It's a terrible disease. I hope they can get her blood sugar down. She's fortunate to have such a loving and devoted daughter. Please keep us posted.

I lost my mother on Jan. 16th of this year to colon cancer and
I think about her everyday and miss her terribly. She was the best

she's no longer with us.
Lady T 03-10-2005, 03:02 PM Thanks Janice and Dustin, that means a lot to me.. :)

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my mother three years ago yesterday. I miss her as much today as I did back then. She was my best friend.
Lady T, your mom will be fine. :)
*MIBabe03* 03-10-2005, 03:09 PM I'll pray for your mom. I'm diabetic also, just recently diagnosed and it's pretty scary. I'm only curious but is she taking any medication or insulin?

Yes she is taking medication..she has been a diabetic for over 30 years and now she is in her 70s..it is very hard for her to control her blood sugar..even though she watches her diet and takes very good care of herself...

I am just really scared right now..since her blood sugar is at 390...which is terribly high...

That is really high. My best friend's mother is an insulin dependent diabetic and she was really sick and couldn't keep anything down. She pounded down Gatorade and her sugar shot up over 900! She was very lucky she didn't go into a coma and die.

900  She is very lucky that she did not have either a massive heart attack or stroke..or just fall into a coma...

Fleet 03-10-2005, 03:51 PM Spirulina is supposed to help stabilize blood sugar levels.
I would ask your mother's doctor about it.
I hope that can solve the problem.

I will pray for your Mom. I know the pain of having someone you love with diabetes. My husband has it. He suffers and so do I cause I'm so afraid he will be in a coma or something could happen to him out there in the world beyond. :(

I lost my mom in 1996 after years of bad health (not diabetes though - emphysema, COPD and Crohn's Disease). It's hell on the person and the rest of the family.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Chin Up~
