No. If I need to get shat done I do it myself. I dont need to thank God for what "he's" done for my life, i thank the ones that I still have here with me that have made my life what it is.

There was a time when I was having the hardest time going to school, and just dreaded the place, and it had something to do with the people there.I never felt good about myself and my self esteem had plumetted. At first I thought it was stupid, but every night before bed I'd pray to God that tommorow would be a good day,and that I was going to,I guess,"make it through".It worked! I really felt that God had heard my plea. Its made me have no doubt about his existence.

I pray all the time to myself. I said a prayer this evening when I bought some lottery tickets ;) Like Hammer used to say, "we've got to pray just to make it today" lol

yes, I pray. Especially tonight since my mom went to the ER because of shortness of breath. I believe in the power of prayer. She called me before and said she's doing better, but is spending the night there.

I hope your Mom is well.

As for me I pray almost everyday. Believe me when I tell you that praying has helped me in my life. If it wasn't for praying I wouldn't be here today.

Hmm the prayer thing...I guess you could call it that, but it's more just talking in my head than get down on my knees worship bull****. I don't know who I'm taking to...God, Nod, Henry Winkler, Yetti...but I know there's someone...so whoever they are *shrugs* why not I guess. I'm agnostic, so just in case...but then again along with that I think that the solar system is an atom in the lead tip of a pencil while they keys I'm typing this with contain universes. Just a theory.

On praying I was brought up with constant praying, now as an older person and been thru so much, I am thankful for the good life I've had but being very honest that I'm not excited about my 85 yr old life now..If there is a god or whatever, why can't that god put me out of the constant pain and it's being old and as I've said: Old Age is Not For Sissies.

Everyone believe and pray as they choose to...

Oh, yeah! Not only do I pray, but incredible things happen when you do it that strengthens your faith. King David learned this firsthand, as 2nd king of Israel, when he would encounter trouble, danger, and perplexity. He would pray, God would help him, and David expressed praise in a Psalm.

Case in Point:

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
--Psalm 28:7

We who see God act do the exact same thing today. I know a girl who was born with brain cancer. Most young people with that type die before they're 5. We started a rigorous prayer chain, and God was at work, not only strengthening our faith, but developing faith in people closest to her. She is 9 years old now, and has had some major ups and downs. But she is alive, has hair (after losing it several times), and is singing God's praises. Her Dad and Mom have seen her bloom, despite the "bricks" being laid over the grass, and she has sprouted up despite them. Never underestimate the power of prayer, and always pray just to give thanks. This is a discipline I had to learn, but its one that keeps the power of gratitude and appreciation at the forefront, and in my case, reminds me where I end and where God can go from there.

All you prayers: Curious about who prays to whom around here, I hear of so many praying to this god or that god or whatever, maybe I need to change my directions...

I have a friend who swears by Jehova as she left her original god years ago...confusing to me????

No - it helps nothing. It didn't help people in the Holocaust, it didn't help every person I know who had cancer. It doesn't do anything, but to each his own.

I pray to Jesus because the Bible says that the only way to God and to Heaven is through Him.

Well good for you, you believe those bible stories, and I and my family and circle of friends, never did...

What I'm waiting for is someone who departed this life and come back to tell me how it is over "there".....

Be Well.
