Frostbitten Man Sues Eagles

PHILADELPHIA-February 23, 2005 — A man who had 8 frostbitten fingers amputated Tuesday is suing the Philadelphia Eagles for his injuries.

James Phillips was one of the people who shoveled the Linc for the NFC championship game. The weekend of the big game, back in January, saw more than a foot of snow fall.



At a news conference Monday at Temple University Hospital, Phillips said he did it because he loves the eagles.James Phillips/plantiff: "I was out there Saturday afternoon 12:00 until Donovan McNabb kneeled down.""Phillips is suing the Eagles and the snow removal contractors the team used. He says while they provided a shovel but no one gave him gloves. His lawyer also tells us Phillips hasn't been paid, but that Eagles representatives are in contact with them.
