Are there movies that you missed at the theater, but after seeing on video, you regretted it?

Are there movies that you saw at the theater and would love to see in the theater again?

Perhaps there are movies that were on the big screen before you were even born.

Offhand, I wish I saw Goodfellas, Open Water, Collateral and Man On Fire in the theater. There are some older ones that I have to think about.

I saw The Shining in theaters and would love to see it again.

Sunset Boulevard- Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond is shocking even on the small screen- the scene where she's watching one of her old movies and stands up and yells at the screen would be way way better on the big screen, as well as the final scene where she says "and all those people in the audience, out there in the dark" or something- would be truly frightening!

I regret not seeing Chicago when it was in cinemas- I love the final scene of that.

West Side Story
Breakfast at Tiffany's
The Stepford Wives (original)

Grease

this one was reissued a few years ago, I think 98. I saw it in the theater and it's so much better on the big screen

Forgot, I'd love to see 'The Wizard of Oz' more than anything in the cinema! Mary Poppins, Rocky Horror and Shock Treatment as well. In England, they have 'singalonga' where they release some musicals with the words to the songs projected on-screen for people to singalong! They did it with Rocky Horror and The Sound of Music.

I dunno about England, since that's where you're from, but in the US, they reissued it in 99 for the 60th anniversary

There are too many to name. However, one movie I would love to see on the big screen would be 2001: A Space Odyssey. That is simply a film that was made to be seen on the big screen.

Art houses play cult hits at midnight screenings.

For example, I was looking up the Atlanta Film Festival and found out that there's quick a few but one in particular that is going to play The Goonies, A Clockwork Orange, and Army Of Darkness at some of their midnight screenings.

As for the mainstream theters though.....

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974!!!)

Hmm....what else...?

The Poltergeist
The Color Purple
Forrest Gump
Let's Scare Jessica To Death (played at least at art houses)

The Modfather
