Maybe he worked in the same place as Ward Cleaver! Although, at least we know Ward had a job. goodolddays 03-10-2005, 07:55 PM Hello ! Despite the lack of reference to a specific job, I vaguely recall that (in one of my tapes) there was an episode where he did mention (to Harriet) something to the effect of "getting home from work" or "I'm off to work" or some such thing. That's as close as I remember him getting to admitting employment ! Scott gilligan fanatic 03-10-2005, 08:00 PM he works with Ward on Leave it To Beaver. actualy I have no clue pscisme 03-10-2005, 10:28 PM Ozzie never had a specific job mentioned on the show-ON PURPOSE! as he said in his autobiography, Ozzie thought it best to avoid the job listing situation altogether as too many sitcoms seemed bogged down by having to define the father figure's workplace scenario (and this was in 1952!) Also, Oz (who in addition to starring, also produced and directed most episodes and served as head writer for the 14 year run of the program) insists that episodes were mostly set in the evenings or on the weekends when a job wouldn't intrude on home life (ah, those must have been the days!) There are, of course, weekday settings on some episodes and workplace settings on some episodes, but these apply to Dave and Rick, not Oz. |
